• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

US pricing

Any dealer can get you the letter. I have done it with a BMW I sold to a nice guy from up there. I can help get one through my dealer if anyone needs help. Cost you a stamp.......

Is it a Husky dealership also? Thats good to know, thank you. We'll see as things progress. There may be few of us coleborating :D

Valid point, I'll have a look into that.
But, the CDN MSRP is to be $8000 Terra, $8500 Strada. I was told that's the price we pay for being Canadian lol and because of our healthcare system LMAO! I laughed at that reason!! Then the dealer went on to say we have a better standard of living than Americans and have to pay more. Again I laughed (Yes, we are in an economic bubble here in Alberta, but c'mon...). Then it was said our tax structure is what brings the price up.
Whatever, I'm rather disappointed with Husqvarna Canada. Perhaps I'll forego that dream and pick up another manufacturer.

Just checked the RIV list. It lists BMW as a manufacturer and all models eligible. Now what does the manufactures label say. The older bikes were MV Agusta.... ( which is not on the list).

Nope, the TR650 is not a BMW, so it is inadmissible. The RIV is merely published by Transport Canada, whether a bike is admissible is determined solely by the importer.

I'm in Edmonton too and have experienced the BS you speak of first hand. Rather than subjecting ourselves to this sort of nonsense, myself and tspoon dealt with ScottyR and had two TE630's shipped across the country.

It's not the fact that there is a price differential that I object to so much as the utter nonsense spouted trying to justify it.
Treat your customers as if they are idiots and you will be rewarded with seeing them walk out your door.

Starts out about the Kawasaki dealer shakeup, but then gets interesting. You gotta make an account.

Hi KLOC,
I am just in the process of importing a Husqvarna myself. What is the process to obtain a recall clearance letter? I am having a hard time finding info on this.
Thanks.

Paid $5999 for my Strada here in Tucson, the dealer had sold they're only Terra, but it went for the same price.
