• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

USB stick manuals

I got if for free , my dealer gave it to me when i picked up my bike, he knew i like to do all of my own work , its the factory manual , he put it on a memory stick for me and then i printed it out , approx 154 pages .

I am quite sure this is not normal. Your dealer is fond of you and must know you on a personal level and probably assumed you wouldn't tell anyone. I don't think we should all go to our dealers and demand factory service manuals. Maybe causally ask for one and how much it costs and see what happens.

I am very sorry if this seems like a rude post PARTSDUDE. I don't mean it like that. I just think it would be an unreasonable request for us to ask our dealers for this. It is very cool that you lucked out and got it though!

When I bought my bike the salesperson explained that there was a service manual on the USB thumbdrive. Mine is mostly corrupt, but from everything I've heard there is not a service manual on the USB thumbdrive.

The paper owners manual has ZERO maintenance content. Nothing on an oil change, nothing on wheel removal, no maintenance schedule. As a result I really WANT a service manual. I was really interested to hear that they exist, so I wanted to know more. I'd happily pay Husky for a manual, just like I've paid every other manufacture of every bike I've owned. I just need to know how to order it. If the only way to get it is to casually ask then that's the approach I'll take.

I'm hoping to not sound rude either. :-)

I wonder if PARTSDUDE just has a more experienced dealer and knew there is not enough info to support our needs as a consumer and just cut to the chase and downloaded the manual. My dealer is new and doesn't quite know what to do about the corrupt thumb drives either.

You are right Krussell. There is not enough info to perform even the simplest of maintenance needs and I am sure I spoke too soon. You even had to explain to someone how to remove their air cleaner on another post. It may not be such an unreasonable request after all to ask for the factory manual and I apologies PARTSDUDE.

So, this is the big question regarding the supposed "service manual" on the thumb drive. Does anyone with a Husqvarna of any kind have an actual service manual on their thumb drive? We are told it is there, but I have yet to see or hear of one.

The thumb drive that came with my TE250 would only pull up a fashion show! I am not kidding...people walking the carpet in the new Husky apparel...that was it! :)

I have several thumb drives with "Owners" manuals, plus the accessories and gear catalog. They are not meant to be "Shop/Service" manuals. Your dealer has access to the Workshop manual and the option to sell you one, give you one.....or not. It would appear that there was a little lag on the Terra Strada manuals being available.

Lonny is correct owners manual info only in book form and normal thing is only that and accy catalog. We however last week or so can download a service manual for trt/trs 650 on drive disk for $10.Thats what we have been doing for years now.Since the thumb drives are junk we will most likely just hand Terra and Strada owners a service manual at thier request, not everyone will work on thier bikes themselves.

Sorry guys, i did not mean to upset anyone, yes my dealer has had husky for a long time . i think he did it because the bike i traded in i gave him the shop manual with it. he knows i like to do as much on my own as possible and i live approx 2 hours away , as much as i would like to share it , i know that is not possible. i just wanted to let everyone know that they are out there.

We are all good here PARTSDUDE...welcome back! Thanks to your post we have come to the conclusion that the dealers are more than likely going to hand us over the manual as well. Seems it is not uncommon. Thanks!

No problem , if someone runs into an issue and needs something looked up until they get a manual, let me know. i dont mind checking it out and getting back to them , it might take me a day or two , i am not on here everyday. but i would be happy to. i just dont want to post the manual and cause a problem .

My dealer refused to give me or even mention anything about a shop/service manual. Is there any place online I can pay for it or is it possible for anyone with the pdf to email it to me? It would be GREATLY appreciated.

This post is a few above yours. Bill is a Cafe Husky sponsor and Husqvarna dealer.

I read that more as "this is what we do at our dealership" and not an open invitation to ask him for the same curtesy to someone who didn't buy the bike from him.
By all means, I hope I read that wrong and he is a resource for getting that manual.

Halls has been doing the same thing for years. At least they used to make a CD with workshop manuals and mail them out to people for $10. Another option...

Never hurts to ask. Call and ask for Bryon or Bill. Im not sure what their policy is on non-purchaser manuals, but they just might sell you one cheap. http://billshusky.com

the link for the USB manual no longer works http://husqvarna-motorcyclesna.com/manuals.php and the new website has nothing.....it seems the Austrian owner is wasting no time in killing the old Husky off. Not good in my book, as there are still new units being sold.

Is there another link to the USB pdf or can some share it please?

Hi Kiwiape, this link still seems to work.............

http://www.endurofactory.nl/pdfs/2013/2012_WSM_TR_650_Terra-Strada.pdf

If you can't get it, and you're in NZ, let me know and I will arrange to get you a copy.

Be aware that this is not a full manual but is better than nothing.

Sweet many thanks! Do you know if this what is on the USB Stick (I didn't get one)?

All I could find on my USB stick was "Marketing Bullshit", so I used as a backup for my new-found pdf's ( I also have a wiring diagram and full parts fiche if you're interested, mind you it's only gonna be useful if we can still get parts in the future !!!).
