• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Used value of a Terra

I know I have read a post about this but I cannot find it so forgive me for the repost. I love my Husky but I greatly miss my Versys so I am looking to sell. Does anyone know what the Terra is selling for used? Mine has 450 road miles and is in perfect shape. It has bar risers, a skid plate, Oxford heated grips, Moose brush guards, and Zeta roost guards. I traded for it new last July so it still has a few months of warranty remaining. Also, if someone knows of anyone looking to trade a 2010 or newer Kawasaki Versys or a Honda NC700X for a Terra and lives within a few hundred miles of 37743 (East Tennessee) I would love to make a deal and I can deliver. If you know someone that may be interested, I can text or email pics. This site has been a wonderful help for me and I will miss it when I sell.

Good question. I had just finished a 15 state, 6,500 mile ride with my Versys and thought I had that out of my system. I wanted to go back to dual sports that I have had on many occasions. Two years after that long ride, I find myself wanting to do more of these long tours. I know I could do it with the Terra but I don't want to do it with the Terra. The Versys is not the idea bike for long rides but I had a blast with it and you can't beat the price.
