• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

wanting to change the graphics on the Strada.

Yup ridingdonkeys got it. Bought a case of the green rattle cans. Only used 3 to do 3 coats on the whole bike. Still have another 3 to re-do if necessary. Cheap, looks good and is easily reversible.

So this plasti-dip stuff can be pealed off at a later time if desired?
How does the plastic fair underneath? Does it get messed up at all?

Camo makes everything look better!

I beg to differ.

Yes, it peels off rather easily. In fact, it is prone to peeling off at contact points, such as where the tabs in two panels connect. However, it is super easy to touch up. The plastic underneath fairs just fine. There seems to be no reaction between the plasti-dip and the plastics or paint. There are tons of YouTube videos with tips on how to apply it. People actually do entire cars in this stuff all the time. These three ought to convince you that it doesn't harm anything. These are some expensive toys.

It is MUCH easier to apply than paint. I showed the process for doing my plastics on my Terra-Fy thread. I just did all the white parts, and left the gloss black parts the way they were.

When cleaning my Strada yesterday, I noticed two Terra stickers on the ground. They were from the rear side panels. The weird thing is, I bought it used with ZERO mods, so I have to think it came from the factory like that. I'm not going to replace them... when stickers fall off, I usually stay with that look.
