• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Welcome to the forum! Introduce yourself here!

Bike is in my garage. Am trying to figure out how to attach the Trail Tech hour meter - I'm thinking splice it to the red/black wire from the ECU to the coil?

Have these observations:

It is 3 lbs heavier than my old 2000 YZ426F - bathroom scale and 2x4 method.

It is tall. Even with 105 mm of sag, it sits an inch higher than my YZ

It runs smooth as silk - none of the clatter the 426s are famous for - and it fuels perfectly down low. I accidentally started to dig a trench in my back yard when I goosed it up over a tree root - it leaped up in a very satisfying way. Need to save it for the off road park, and replace my divots before the wife sees them.

The clutch drags when it's in gear with the lever all the way in. It's like a midget is trying to give you a bump start push, even when you don't want him to. Perhaps this will go away with some use?

I ride it for the first time tomorrow at Saint Joe State Park in Missouri. Lots of wide open sandy area, great for getting things figured out. There will be pictures.

Right on!! Nice to see a pic after chatting with you on Youtube!! I'm gonna try and post a video of that x-town place I mentionned (indoor track) soon!!

Update: Bike is in my garage. Dealer installed the PU kit and bike rocks! Unfortunately, it's getting pretty cold here (in the great white north) and the snow has started. Just picked up my new HDB handguards and will be installing soon. Heated grips is a must! Bash plate should be here soon. With having bought the bike sight unseen, I was really surprised how tall it is. Suspension may need re-working for my 160 lb weight.

Ahoy there. Just picked up a 2011 TE 310. Put the kouba link to drop it 1.5"--I'm a shorty with only 30" inseam. I live in California so have all the smog stuff on it. Need to pull that ugly charcoal canister off. Can I just yank that off or do I need to block off any lines/ports? On my little crf 230L I bought a kit for blocking of the entire smog system. Does any kit exist for the TE? Anyhow, can't wait to take her out for a spin.

Hello all! I just picked up my first Husky on 12/17/11. It's a 2000 WR360 and I can't wait to get an in depth riding impression of the bike. My initial impression is that the motor is a torque monster! I'm excited to be a member of this forum and I'm sure I'll have lots of questions for the smoker faithful.

hi all ! just got my first husky a few weeks ago :) 2011 te 250: unimpressed with low end ! 12-52 gear much better! after 10hrs went to 13-52 and a new set of 403 & 404 bridgestones bike handles like a dream now ! still would like more low end. cant decide to go with jd 6x for $200 or husky 12port ecu for $350 there is so much talk about both on here for the positive ! so what do you guys think ? o by the way i live in mid missouri the heart of ozarks hills and rocks galore ! this ch site is almost as much fun as riding ! lol :))!! ( hillbilly )

Just bought a 2009 TE250 with 158 miles on it. Haven't ridden it yet as I live in Alaska and the bike stays in Arizona with a friend. Going to AZ on Jan 2th to add the farkles and to try getting my 30 in. inseam to climb on the bike. I have a 2007 KTM 990 Adventure that is slightly lowered, too. Always wanted a Husky and it only took until I was 55 years old to get one! Will be at Westfest this spring so if you see a KTM with EXOX or a TE250 with BALTO on the plates, stop and say HI!

I ride a lot in my back yard, it's 15 acres with 1/2 grass track and single track through cedar thickets and the other 1/2 is creek bottom with logs rocks trees and creek banks. It's mostly 1st and 2nd gear technical single track(great to practice for about an hour or two). Also we go to St. Joes state park now and then. I'm considering racing in a few Hillbilly GP races but haven't yet.

Hi Everyone,

Bought one of the last SMS 630's from Moore & Son in Santa Cruz. Have made it a few tweaks so far to make it a really nice commuter: Lynx Fairing, Seat Concepts Seat, Husky Rack.

Looking forward to learning more from everyone here!
