• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Using the goprowide 170 motorsports kit which comes with a suction cup mount, I just stuck it on the front above the headlight. I am surprised at how agressive it looks. It could have been an expensive failure but I was confident it would stay put.

ME: NothingClever (because I can never come up with a snappy, jazzy screen name)

WHERE: Currently Colorado Springs area

RIDE: '06 TE610 purchased for a song with 1,440 miles on the clock

WHY HERE: AdvRider thread in the Thumpers forum is just too dang big to sorth through and I'm too lazy to take on the job of updating the BuffaloDan efforts

OTHER BIKES: Coupla Yamaha enduros in the 70s, an '02 BMW Dakar (sold), an '06 KTM 950 and there's a Ducati Multistrada in the future somewhere

Happy trails!!

New to the site

Hi,
My name is Mike Hawkins. I am new to this site. Recently bought my first husky, an 83 CR250. I am also getting a 72 wr450 in about a week. I never had a chance to own a husky back in the 70's-80's era, when I raced motocross. Started out on a hodaka ace 100, then a penton 125, and after that switched to jap bikes when they became dominant. I have 6 hodakas, 2 elsinores, an rl250 suzuki, a ty80 yamaha, and a '70 honda C70. For a modern bike I ride an '02 yamaha wr250f. I'll have to take some time to read up on old threads here. Glad to be here,
Mike

I will be picking up a 2009 WR250 from John Moore in Santa Cruz on Tuesday, 3-31 if the replacement digital display is OK. The one in the carton was DOA and after some hassle Husqvarna was supposed to overnight the replacement yesterday.
