• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Welcome Mike! Glad you made it.

Just a heads up, I got 2 copies of your email. Something is quite strange with the emails going between CafeHusky and your email account.

You may want to log in periodically and check for messages/PMs because you could very well get some and not know about them.

New here but a long time Husky guy. Bought my first back in the day (a 1978 CR250 in 1979) and raced a few MX and Enduros. Just a few years ago I picked up a (claimed 79) CR 250 as a basket case. Still sitting in the shed under a tarp. I hope to one day get it running. Would love to do a few Vintage MX races. To that end I have a 1981 YZ250 that is a bore and piston away from being a runner.

What brought me to this site is a desire to get a Street Motard Husky for next spring. I've played on the track on a few borrowed bikes but I want a street ride now.

I'll say this up front. I have spent a few days looking around this site and I love what I see! Keep it up. I'll be spending some time here in the future and I'm sure I'll enjoy your company. I can only hope you all enjoy mine.......

Were glad to have you on board. Once you get a taste of how fun the street fighter Husky's are you may find it hard to go back to dirt (I know I did) but whatever discipline you choose you'll be glad you're on a great bike like a Husky with a great bunch of people on you're side.

My name is Mike Sheetz, I'm from Oregon. I'm a frequent user of gasgasrider.org and this site looks great, just like that one. I am a big fan of Husqvarna motorcycles. I'm a die hard two stroke rider, but if I were to go four, Husky would be at the top of my list if for no other reason than they are bullet proof and easy to work on for maintenance and repair.

I will be attempting to qualify for the ISDE in 2010, and I'm keeping my options open to what I will be riding, though I'm pretty sure I'm locked into Gas Gas.

I hope this site is successful. I hope to see more Husky's running around!

Hi everyone! My name is Rob and I'm from south-central Ks, Medicine Lodge to be exact. Just picked up a 81 430 XC and got steered to this site by google. There looks to be a lot of good left-kicker information available!!

I also have a 72 CB750 that I put miles on when I can slip out

Welcome Outtomuch

Nice looking bike. I'd like to hear more about "Hillclimbing"

Hillclimbing is a very old form of motorsport. I think it's origins are from when the rich and titled first got cars and used to challange each other to timed trials along the drive that led to their stately homes. To this day, a lot of Hillclimbs (in the UK) are held at such venues and have a very old skool feel in very beautiful surroundings :)

There are classes for all types of bike (vintage, street, supermoto, trikes, sidecars etc etc.........). The fast guys are VERY fast and the rest of us, well, we just have fun and (I) fall off a lot :D

Typically you run the course one at a time, have 2 practice runs and 3 timed runs - most courses are a 40 secound run and all tend to be very technical so the challange is in shaving a few 'tenths' off by stringing a series of bends together better than on the last run..........

Here's a link to the UK organising body (The NHCA) where you can see loads of pictures and vids

Typical Hill Climb in stunning setting (North Cornwall):

and me a split second before the back spun out and I was facing the down the hill :D (on my old DRZ):

Not sure if this is the right section for the above so please feel free to move it :)

Hi all

New to the site. I have what I believe is an 85 cr500 husky. Anyone ever heard of a husky rider possibly named greg or craig torgson? Aka torqy torgson? Something like that? Ive been trying to find out this info for a long time. I have his old factory bike....
