• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Welcome to the forum! Introduce yourself here!

I figured there were green bikes in the mix with a name like Kwackerman.:D Welcome. I have a bunch of them too.:busted:

I can assure you the PC V with Autotune will help your bike

In addition, you should contact Husky Sport, tell them your vin, and see if your 2008 ecu needs the updated software - if you have not done that.

Welcome to the forum.

Hi, thanks for the advise:thumbsup: In relation to the ECU software update, how would that actually be done, if I need it that is:confused:

Either take the bike to them, or send just the ecu to them. My understanding is either way works, but you should check with them.

Hello all. I've been a member for over a year now, but never officially introduced myself. Mike Centini (why I use the MC in MChammer - not because I liked his music). I'm an old ECEA enduro rider who left the motorcycle world back in 1986 and finally returned when I researched and bought a new 08 TE250 in 1/08 from Toytech. Back in the day, I even rode on Drew Smith's number in an enduro in 83 (I think) when I was a 21 year old who thought he knew how to ride...boy did Drew school me. I live in Lebanon, PA and now play ride with an old friend who lives in the Tower City area. We both used to ride the same class in the enduros back in the 80s and it's great fun to get together again to ride (he has 2 Huskys too) Always looking for others in the area to ride with, and I see a few CH members are from this neck of the woods.

Since joining CH, I've posted a few times - more times asking for help than giving help, and this "family" is a great group of people to get information from. Thank you all, and I want to say to Coffee that I've been to other sites for both motorcycles and my truck, and they aren't nearly as helpful or knowledgeable as this group you've organized here.

Howdy!

Howdy!
My firsy Husky was a 1974 CR 250, have also had over the years a 1976 CR 250, 1979 360 OR and a 1983 250 XC. I am currently looking for a 80s XC 250 (and it's gonna happen!). I have a Japanese / Yellow 1978 project but will convert successfully back to Swedish brute plushness soon!
I'ts good to be here, thanks for the nice site Coffee!

Thanks guys

Wish I could post in this thread more, I did try to keep up for a while but it is a bit overwhelming :)

I'm quietly working in the background (server) most of the time if you see my light on.

just landed

Hi guys,
I'm the proud new owner of a 09 TE610. My first experience with bikes back in the 70's was on the dirt.
I raced for a couple of years and sucked at it but soon moved to street bikes.
I've been riding now for over 35 years and finally decided to try a little trail riding again.

I just picked up the 610 today and I'm stoked to get out there.

I'm sure I'll have a few questions, I'll try to post them in the appropriate place only after exhaustive searches

Newbie here

Hi, I'm a newbie from Mexico. I'll be replacing my '04 300exc in a few months and I'm considering a wr300 so I'm doing some research in advance.

Newbie

Hello there everyone,

My name is Andries (Andrew for english/american spoken, André for our francophonic friends), I ride a 1989 510TE LC with the twin exhaust left and right. My main interest will be items regarding this type, of which not alot of information is spread across the web. Happy to join you people! And remember:
Off-roading is also a way of gardening.

Heh

Longtime rider and first Husky
Replaced a souped up DRZ400E and loving it stock.
I need to pull the emissions off and do some final tune ups, haven't been riding for a few years much. Looking for any jetting advice and pulling the octopus off. Any riders in Norco CA?
TE610 07

Officially new here but was a serious lurker when I started to contemplate buying a Husky. Was in the market for a pumpkin but came across a brand new 2008 TE 450 in a showroom. The folks on here, advrider & tt convinced me it was a safe bet. Thanks!

Good to be on board. Vintage Husky fan. Started with my 2nd race bike back in the day. 82 CR 250. Proud owner of superbly restored 83 CR by "Leftcoast Leftkicker" Allen. Restoring an 83 XC 250. On the lookout for an 83 CR 500.

Welcome aboard "Freakhead" - Nice bike and I hope that's not a "Stihl" chainsaw case....better be a Husky in that box

Great eye (or are you casing my garage;)), but please, don't hurt me...the chain-saw would only be a Stihl. Maybe if the Husky bike engineers made the chainsaws too I would have one. At least I could get a Stihl hat here in my town....no such luck on Husky.
