    WR = 2st Enduro & CR = 2st Cross

  • Hi everyone,

    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

    Thanks for your patience and support!

125-200cc Well slap my A$$ and call me Sally! (2012 CR 125 ignition)

Yep Joe, there have been several conflicting reports through the gravevine about the Ducati ignition. I fell for line that said it was both the CR and WR. It's obviously not true for the CR's which leaves me wondering why "what's good for the Goose is NOT good for the Gander"? Don't get me wrong, I'm not whining as my '12 CR has exceeded my expectations. But now I'm wondering what the Ducati ignition might do for the CR.

My guess is you wouldn't like it. My 2012 WR150 has it and it works great for what I am doing but the flywheel has some weight and takes a tiny bit of spinup to get things rolling and you MX'ers might not like that. Just remember that setting up the little bikes properly involves manipulating minutiae! :D

Ah. That's the one he recomended when we talked. Do you know what the modifications are? Please be sure to post your ride impressions after the race.

The 200 sx fatty pipe doesn't tuck up out of the way the best. It does have the best spread of power of the 7 pipes that I have tried. This isn't conclusive at all and I expect more options to be tried. Conversion of the pipe is simply a matter of changing the spigot that fits into the cylinder(angle too), new stinger section, and moving the mounting brackets. Pretty easy really.new 200 ktm pipe 052.JPG

I'm glad my 150 doesn't have a hydraulic clutch. It doesn't need it. Super easy. I can't wait to try the 167 with the modified pipe this weekend at the Nat'l Enduro.

I made a hydraulic clutch setup for my 125s useing AJP master cylinder and a not to sure what the slaves are from and you can pull these in with total ease with just your little finger, and as a added bonus the clutch arm on the cases has a couple of millimetres more travel so no drag ever even when cold !
Absolutly a brilliant fantastic wonderfull fade free super dooper total must for any bike and really makes the light standard clutch pull seem STONE AGE

Buddy Shane installed the magura hydro on his CR125 and said it ruled, Jake likes it to. More about the feel and engagement point than ease of pull.

Thanks for the info Walt. Looks like my buddy with a welder will be getting some work.

The clutch pull on my 125 is quite a bit lighter than that of my KTM 250 or my buddie's TXC 250 with magura hydraulic units. I also don't have to worry about the slave or master cylinder failing like it did on my 250. YMMV.
