• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

What boots?

Went with the Gaerne 10's. thank you for all the reviews! Should have them by Wednesday! They sound like they fit wider so that was the deciding factor. Hopefully my Shrek feet fit lol

I wear the Gaerne SG10. Just got them before Christmas. Great boot for the money. Under 300.00 shiped. My shoe size is a 10 and the boot is a 10. Fits perfect. Real happy with the boot...I threw away my 10-15 yr old A-Star Vector boots.

I went with the Rocky Mountain place someone else had mentioned. Wasn't able to find new coupon code so it was 320. Either way, much better than the msrp on those things lol. I will be glad I ordered from them if they don't fit though because of their return policy. We really need a gear sponsor on this site lol. Everyone is hard parts

Same dilemma as you LandofMotards..my Axo RC5's have never failed me but l'm sick of the water in the boots!!!

Aside from SG10/12's and Sidi Crossfire 2's, l'm looking at the TCX Pro 1.1 (like the 2.1 but not a fan of the bootie) or the Forma Dominator TX (the Comp has that bootie as well)...tried all 7 boots with the Sidi's the most comfortable out of the box but also with the price tag (same as SG12's).

Dunno...be nice if you could test ride boots:p

I have both Gaerne and Sidis and both fit really well. The Sidis seem to be holing up a bit better (mainly where they contact the shifter) but the Gaern's are just a tad more comfrotable.

Have Sidi's and Gaernes- both good. Would say the Sidi's are easier to walk in if you are working off the bike for any trail clearing reason.

I can't wait to try them out this weekend. I'm short on offroad gear because its been so long but I have to admit, I love buying new gear. Good luck to all of you who are still looking. No matter what it will be an upgrade for me but I'll be sure to write a full review

Just make sure that all the screws and fasteners on the buckles and exoskeleton are nice and snug when you take them out of the box.
