• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

trying to find bit of info on parts for my 79 390 or found a right up and pic show gold wheels and gold bars but i was led to believe it had silver wheels any one got a stock 79

mm

in that pic it shows resevoires on rear shocks, the 79 had curnutt shocks is this pic a 80 allso has different number board.some bikes seem to hav gold bars and some black ? bit confused on different specs heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelp:confused:

I presently have a 79 WR and it has gold wheels, a darker gold than the ones on my 83 WR. The color changed when then hubs got upgraded in 81.
my present (and past) 79's had gold bars. I recently bought straight 78 handlebars and they are black, the bend matches the 79 bars exactly. If you have a low serial number 1979 it may have come with black bars. I notice this is magazine tests when the bike was new. I was told that as a low volume bike builder, husqvarna used what was on the shelf until it was gone (makes sense)
I like the black bars I have because they are oringinal. OR's came with both types (longer) shocks

Hope this helps

Regards, Team WR

the 1979 250 and 390 OR came with silver rims, and black handle bars, Ohlins rear remote res, rear shocks.

77 and 78 they came with Curnutts..{pos} have yet to find a set that wernt blown, or were rebuildable.
after 1980 all models came with gold rims, and gold bars.
the black and gold, and red and gold was such a seller for Husky they just went with it, and sold motorcycles.

maybe

think these rims where originally silver, and hav set of black bars so just going to go with it,not building a show bike but would like to keep it to some kind of originall spec cheers
