  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

What extra parts came with your new bike?

It seems that husky factory is shipping out bikes with various parts in the parts kits.

My 2010 TXC 250 came with a 50T sprocket and chain. but also a holeshot device. I don't get that. It was missing the battery basket and the power up resister and plug, so the dealer grabbed it from a TE that was on the floor. I was hoping it might come with a tail light and/or headlight.

When I bought my 08 TE 250 it came with a big box of extra stuff.

My sons 2010 TC 250 came with some jets, a booklet, hole shhot devise, and the red Husky jump drive thing.

I always joke about "Enzo and Vito" the mythical Husky employees who crate the bikes for export. They decide on what "extras" go in the crate on any bike. It seems Enzo and Vito ran out of tool kits about 2002 and anything else is up to how the boys feel on any given day!

I usually picture it like this...... WR300 comes down the line, Enzo says to Vito, "Jet kit?"... Vito says "No jet kit!". Next WR300 comes along and Enzo asks the same question, to which Vito says "Yes jet kit!". This the way it goes all day, 4t or 2T bike, so luck of the draw is a factor! Also, how Vito's wife is treating him at home!:busted:

 This has been my theory for years in regards to GasGas! Pedro and Jose decide who gets a Doma pipe and who gets an FMF. They also decide what jets go into the carburetors:D
