  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

What kind of insurance do you guys carry for your TE's

Just wanted to know what kind of coverage are you guys getting for your Te's. I dont ride mine a lot on the street, so whats the best to do?

I got mine through "Progressive" and for very good coverage it only cost me $88 for the first year (2008). This past year it's up to $100. Like you, I don't ride mine on the road much but for that little bit, figured if I needed it, I have it.

I have Geico full coverage on my 09 450SMR (title says TE450)
$250 deductible with road side service is $130 a year.

I also dont ride on the road much, but for that kind of money its nice to know its covered if wrecked, stolen, catches fire, etc.

I use State Farm. The basic, I think it's about 36 bucks every six months, but it's a 450cc. My littler bikes are about half that to insure.

I have Progressive. I have both my TE410 & TE610 and it costs me $160 a year. Just the basic coverage. I don't ride them that much on the road but nice to have just in case.

I added my 07 TE250 to my policy (with a full coverage 07 K1200GT and liability 93 Nighthawk 250). Full coverage, no deductible, $10 more a year...

However, if I get rid of the Nighthawk, the multi-discount goes down and my insurance goes up ~$120.

Progressive.

I have liability only through Progressive. $80 a year. Dont really ride on the street just have it to keep the plate.

:cheers:Thanks for all the quick replies. AAA wants way too much

Insurance is funny like that, AAA for me was $10 more for full coverage than Geico was for just liability. Progressive wanted $400 a year for full coverage which is $300 more than what I'm paying?

:banghead:AAA is getting me for 150 a month. My minimum payment for the husky is the same:banghead:

Way to much for the amount of time spent on pavement
