  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

what oil should I use??

Hi everyone, I need some advice on what oil to use in my 07 TE450, my manual specifies to use 10w-60, on my previous bikes ( YZ & CRF 450's) I used motul5100 10w-40. I went to a local husky dealer today and they recommended a motul 15w-50. I'm not looking to start a "that oil is rubbish, this is best" discussion, I just want some opinions on what oil other husky owners have used and any issues if any have been experienced. any info would be helpful. thanks joker.

wow, that was quick!! thanks for that, I thought that would be the case, I haven't serviced it yet, so I wanted to make sure. joker :thumbsup:

I use the motul 10-50. Have done over 5 years on 4 Huskies-its good stuff. All the modern semi and fully synthetic bike oils are good. Just change it regularly. I chanhe every 3-4 rides and change the oil filter every second oil change.

Hi fella,
I always use Motul 300V 15 50. if you have access to it then don't hesitate. That double ester is real magic! ;)

thanks for all the replies, the 300v is what was recommended to me by the husky dealer near me, I haven't done a lot of searching but I haven't seen a 10w-60 yet, the husky store had a really poor range of products, they seem more focused on selling jetski's with the bikes taking a back seat  I'm getting ready for a holiday so I have limited time to look around elsewhere. I guess its the usual thing, good oil and frequent changes. thanks again, joker :D:D
