  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

All 2st What to buy? Another Comparison Question

I've never been there other than for a dual sport ride.

Do you just drive up the road into the state forest, park and go ride? Is it that easy?

Or, do you have to sign in somewhere, show ID, show bike, etc... I have all of the necessary paperwork.

Thanks,
Mike

We come in off Rt. 70 and head into the forest for a few miles until we come to a fork in the road and make a right. Then it's about another mile until we make another left and park in a big sand pit. From there we just hit the trails... Usually on any given Sunday I can find some one to ride with if I come there alone. As long as your bike is plated you should not encounter any problems with the rangers for the time being.. I say that because of the proposed ban from the lovely NJ DEP... But that's another story I made post about in the main topic forum.... Are you an AMA member ? If you are and like riding Hare Scrambles I'm riding Sahara Sands on October 7th.... I ride C Senior (I'm 52) and have had a lot of fun in the past years on my KTM in that event .... Now that I have my brand new Husky and have a good feel for it can only imagine the fun I'll have this year.. I'm stoked to ride there the week after next... Between the sand the woods and the MX sections this course has something for a cross section of riders...

Thanks Jersey Woods. I'll have to try that one day.

I have lots of kids soccer this weekend so I won't be riding.

Thanks. I'm going to push the guys I ride w/to take a trip over there.

Cool PM me if you guys think you wanna ride there.... A lot guys from Ocean County Competition Riders are around on Sundays and they ride in groups so it's a lot of fun..
