    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

OOF! Not good. Hope you heal up soon!

I destroyed my subframe riding the White Rim Trail in Utah last month. My carbon fiber LV pipe hanger broke, then I lost a bolt and it all went to hell after that. I rode out of White Rim with my tent strapped to my seat and everything else either in or hanging off of my backpack. Fun...

I have an extra one I got in a package deal. I paid $275 -$300 for. I will sell for $275 if you want it. And BTW, thanks! I hope my knee is not going to need to be cut!
 
Thanks, but I got mine fixed and beefed up for about $80. I should have taken a photo before putting it back together. It was a thing of beauty!
 
What you see is the result of an impact with a very large dog at speed. what you dont see is a broken leg and broken back from my flight and impact with the ground. im glad to be upright and now able to walk. im now in the market for some parts.

Yikes Brandon! I'm picking up some radiator shrouds from a guy who's parting out his 610 on Wednesday. When I spoke to him last he still had the frame, engine, swingy, LV full system and some other bits. I'll email you with an update when I see what he has left. Glad to hear you're up and about!
 
Plug boot separated from the coil wire.:mad:
Anybody have a good fix other than starting over? Not enough slack to work with the existing.

Mine did the same thing trying to get the plug out without the right puller....stupid me.

I pushed the plug clip out of the boot and re-crimped it on the wire, then slid it back into the boot with some dielectric grease for lube.

But if your wire broke, you can probably pick up a universal plug wire (kit) from an auto parts store, just find one with a coil connector that will work and do the same thing I just described.

I may have an extra front wheel.....conversely if that front disk is bent I could use it.

I may also have a line on another set of forks. You will have to swap some parts as the SM damper rods are shorter.

The parts to fix that may be more than the bike is worth.

Here is a thought.....the SM triple trees are wider than the TE set up. The SM plastic and headlight shroud and fender is MUCH more expensive too!

Since the TE stuff is much more plentiful used you may want to consider dropping a whole TE front end on that bike.........Triples, wheel headlight fender and disk ...either shorten the forks or add a longer TE shock and you should be good to go.

Any TE should work for parts...610 510 450 250.
 
Not exactly destroyed but will require the welder to come out.Right hand footpeg mount after a good ride offroad.

 
Seems both trips out to the San Juans have caused some damage to my expensive Leo Vince exhaust. Last trip out, I hit some slick clay during the September flooding and ended up off the two track into a rocky creek bed. The boulders took a toll on my expensive exhaust. At least I did not get hurt but we ended up having to overnight within 300 yards due to our drive line (chain/sprockets) and tires locking up from the thick clay. The clay rolled around our tires like snow rolling into a snowball.

The exhaust is still 100% functional albeit with war scars. I'm surprised by the strength of the carbon hanger. Wonder if I can procure a new can sleeve from Leo??
