  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

whats the best exhaust for a 09 txc 450?

are looking for performance?are you trying to drop some weight?are you looking to improve thae appearance?are you going for quiet?what is most important?dan

all of thee above lol looks and performance weight and quiet hell they all sound good to me
thinking.gif
decisions decisions. from what ive read most of the aftermarket stuff is quieter than whats on there now? whats the options out there? i know its basiclly $450+ for a slip on and $1000+for most of the full kits. im just window shopping and getting opinions rite now.

I really like my exhaust from Up Tite. Its lite and looks good, made right here in the USA too by a really good guy.

thanks for the reply, i think that price i stated might have been on a leo vince. i was really wondering what the teams might be using. fmf, pro circuit leo vince? and what all the attributes are with the seperate systems.

the jardine exchaust is pure power, looks good but very loud.the leo vince is rather quiet and super light and cant beat the looks.the fmf is a crude piece but is cheap and the 4.1 is good for power but loud the Q is not super strong but for sure the quietest i know of.dan

sorry im kind of a pain when researching things like this, it took me a good month to decide on what tires to get for my truck lol glad to have yalls personle experiance with the equipment for sure!

I have a barely used Leo Vince X3 Ti silencer for sale if interested. It came off a bike with only 85 miles.

It is just a slip on muffler. Ti body with carbon end cap. It is as new. Retail on the LV Site is $700. I will take a lot less than that.

What is your leo Vince exhaust for? I don't show they make one for the TXC models only for the TE and SM. Will a TE exhaust bolt up to a TXC header?

I could see maybe wanting a lighter can (for weight ) or for more quietness... But I just got a an 09 TXC...and with the spark arrestor in ...I think it's kinda quiet...and the header is Ti (so you're not going to get less weight than that) although the can does feel a little heave (alum body) and it feels like a thick one at that....BUT...my guess is , It's a heavy thick can ...for Durability....My used bike was Beat down by an aggressive young rider...and the can has no dents...only some scratches... I've also heard that this stock exhaust performs very well already and doesnt need an upgrade (But I have nothing to compare it to...so I dont know that for sure)
But I'll be following this thread to keep on learning about Your all opinions.... this is a great forum and I've learned tons from you guys already .... Braaaaap !
