• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

What's your collective thought on what to race next?

I like the idea of the button and autoclutch...
...now if we could just get them on the tc...

Just kidding...

All the above comments considered; TXC should fit the bill.

Thanks,

You better get moving! Time is running out, Husky brother!

New helmet/goggles to match new gear

Plus extra wear parts, brake pads, cables, tires, tubes, bearings and grease.

I think we all better chip in, cause your gonna need a case of BEER and case of GREASE!

Don't mind me, I find a little humor in about anything!

If you're going 4t, definitely go with the 310 - does everything a 250 4t will do, only a lot better. Will stay with 250-300cc 2ts and bigger 4ts.
Converting my 09 to a 310 was the best mod on the bike by far.

Poke, good comment. The choice would be what class...
4 stroke B lites(250) or Open B(310)

Darin, scary list! Maybe I'll just spend my money on beer and a vacation down South.

Bill has a 2011 demo TCI250 on sale now, i would buy it if i didnt have a 144 already. KTM made a lot of fans with the 350SX, husky could do the same with a TC310 that had a diet. Anyway, get a TC, you guys race in the daylight, dont waste time with the TXC i say. You guys are out to win championships, and that means performance. Unless the gncc requires a tail light i would stick to the MX models.

Maybe humorous but right on the money, especially the grease:D

Narrowed down to a possible...

TXC250... would like Andy to have the chance to get up to pace on one before purchasing.

Anybody offering a test ride on one...he'll be real careful; honest. Of course, I'll pay if he breaks anything.

Can travel to someplace warm...please someplace warm. Just kidding about the warm, but not the travel.

Let me know, our bags are packed!

Having had extensive experience on both the 250 and 310 Huskies(big block bikes), I can honestly say just go straight for the TXC 310. That extra 50-60cc truly makes a case where 1+1=3 The result is greater than the sum of its parts.
A 310 with a decent rider can reel in 250 & 300 2ts and 400-450 4ts, something a 250 just can't do. Plus it just makes every aspect of riding easier; it has all the weight and handling benefits of a 250, with none of the drawbacks.

I have made a great woods bike out of the TC250, light weight and simple, but the key is auto clutch to prevent stalls. Dead engine starts you may be better off with e-start. This thing starts first kick most of the time but......

The FAR Husqvarna guys had pretty good luck on the TXC250. The TC250 is probably the closest thing to the CR125.
Wallybean- I just bought Dave R's wr125. You did some work on it. I just wanted to ask you a few questions. First being. I guess you did the machining/boring on the cylinder yourself and had it nikasilled? What piston ring should I put in it when its time? How many hours should I go until re ring? thanks!
