What's your Long term review of PCV and Auto Tune.

Tried reading the threads about pcv auto tune but they are all over the place.

Just what to know your thoughts on the PCV and Autotune. Long term review. Before I pull the trigger on a $600 unit.

Besides the hung idol issue (seems to be resolved with the evap can removed, as commented on in about 6 threads). I can't find any other negative comments.

I was holding out for the Rixxer but that seems to be on hold, to bad for us Canadians.

Thoughts please!!!

The way I look at it, if you just got the PCV up front, it was about double in cost versus the "plug", depending on which one, and where purchased from.
The option of being able to make adjustments via borrowed maps, or autotune, was more than worth it.
Fooling the ECU with colder than actual air temps, just wasn't the fix I wanted to go with.

After installing the PCV on my bike, the off idle stalls are gone, and I may be the only one, but never got the hanging idle issue after install.

There may soon be a third option. An adjustable O2 spoofing device may soon be available for your machines. More information will be available shortly pending some checks currently being carried out. I am currently testing one on my Nuda. This is a plug and play device that intercepts and alters the info. received from the O2 sensor at the ECU to tell in to richen the mixture by a fixed pre-adjustable amount ( 0 to 10 % if I remember correctly). It works in closed loop but the enrichment is transferred over to open loop after a couple of tanks fuel by adaptation.

Fooling the ECU = overriding the programmed values, that's the same as PCV. Don't matter so much how it gets done as long as it gets done.

PCV shines b/c of its potential for fine adjustment throughout the map, not knocking it at all, it's a fine product & an excellent option for many bikes.

I'm all for a better mousetrap but I can't imagine this helping the TR more than a cheap IAT spoofer. IAT spoofers go right to the problem on the TR, the open loop & keep the fuel economy of the closed loop. May work fine enough for other bikes though.

Really, that sounds cool. It's going to be a few months before Canada melts off a few feet of snow and the temp rises above -30...so I'm in no huge rush lol.

What's the name of this unit? I hope it's cheaper than the pcv lol.

the big plus of pcv is tunability, tech support, so many in the field for
so long. lots of real racers, in almost every type of event, if you shop
the web deals can be had. hands down best and most versatile option
in tuners,

So far it looks like Revzilla has the best price, including shipping to Canada.

Not to put down any other spoofer but I like the idea if I go with an aftermarket exhaust, air filter etc...the pcv and auto tune will create a map for me, making sure my bike doesn't go to lean or rich.

To be honest I don't want to fool around like I did modding my other bikes. Just want to install parts and turn the key.

Have you notice any power differences though the range. I don't really give a dam about fuel economy. If I lose 2-3 l/100km the bike is still good on fuel.

I am using it on a 2012 Te511, it gave the bike better response, power everywhere. Maps from zipty racing for
free. Mapping available for just about any combination of mods. Also with a map switch $49 you can go from
good milage to a ripper with a flip of the switch.

Mine was the first Nuda to have a Boosterplug so I'm not against the AIT spoofers, but...........
Why settle for enriching just open loop, why not enrich the whole map and gain benefits throughout.

OK..........we believe the F800 version MAY work on the TR650
As I said it's being looked into at the moment...........

Personally I'm not really interested in the PCV. I'm quite happy with the performance of the Nuda but I just want the fuelling to be optimum for the bike and not the cat. converter! The AF-XIED uses all the benefits of the ECU we have already paid for and just tweaks them. Why pay again for something our bikes already have? If you change the exhaust the existing ECU will adapt to it but unfortunately back to the lean 14.7:1 mixture and higher running temperature for the optimum CAT/emmisions performance. The O2 sensor via adaption compensates for subtle changes in the fuelling system caused by wear so if you use PCV without the Autotune then your perfectly Dyno'd bike could gradually drift away from it's optimum tune.

Please note I have no ties to this company. I asked them if it would work on the Nuda (I'm testing it when I get time between the winter weather and work commitments). As I was originally going to get the 650 myself and I knew of your fuelling issues from reading this forum it occured to me that it may work on the 650 as your O2 sensor appears to be the same as mine.

I don't think so. Is I recall, in this forum only 1 or 2 people had some recurring issues with the way their bikes ran after having a spoofer installed for some time. From memory, the person who raised that possibility had also ignored the servicing schedule and their bike was several thousand km/miles overdue for it's first scheduled valve check/adjustment.

From memory, the person who raised that possibility had also ignored the servicing schedule and their bike was several thousand km/miles overdue for it's first scheduled valve check/adjustment.

I don't know but you can see AF results for a R1150 on the advrider link above, why should the TR 650 be any different?

Is this going on a TR? I ask b/c your profile currently says you don't have one. If you want to fine tune your entire map & cost is not a concern there's only one choice.

If you live on a budget & would rather put that money towards other things & just want to fix the hole in the open loop that causes so many TRs to stumble/stall you can do that yourself for about $20. BTW don't be fooled by how cheap that fix is, it'll work better on the TR than others costing many times that amount.

If you had your heart set on a rexxer & think they may eventually come through but want something now, you could do the Eruption mod, be content & wait.
