• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Where is everyone riding this weekend?

Took a ride up to Ukiah, rode Cow Mountain. It was a good time...except for the drunk guy on the quad who hit me head on because he couldn't figure out how to slow the dang thing down. :banghead:

Criminy! Are you ok?

Hope your okay..??..?? Two problems:

#1-Drunk Guy
#2-Quad, or as some have said "quadtard"

Anyway, hope you made it out ok. After we get some rain, Cow Mountain will be even better.

Oh yeah, I forgot to say...

I was riding on the Nevada/Oregon border last weekend :D

Coming up on the 11th/12th the first track outing of the WR300 and my first competition event in a couple of years. Eddieville (Goldendale, WA) GP race. It is an open course with lots of high speed sections, and no single track. I love riding there when it is dry. If it gets wet the clay turns it into a whole lotta slipping and sliding.

Last time I rode on this track I was on a CRF450X. I think it will be more fun on the WR.

And I was right. It was more fun. They did throw a bunch of water on part of the course so I got to be very careful for the first lap while finding the slippery parts, then managed to pick up the pace as I got to know the course and the bike and worked up to 4th out of 6. Not too bad for a fat old, out of shape guy on a new bike.

The lighter weight and gentler torque band of the 300 compared to the 450 made it fun the whole 90 minutes.

I've watching the country side here alot and have seen many many creeks here that drain off the mountain sides ... They dry up completely in the early year and stay like that for months ... No rain here in the last week and all sunshiny today, so I'm gonna try and talk my riding buddies into some creek bed riding ... I rode one yesterday about 1\2 mile and it was very cool ...Not too hard and not to dangerous ...

Quads are bad enough without being drunk on them ... Hope UR OK from the crash ...

Here are a fews pics of a couple creek beds ... Lots of rounded rocks as in the bottom pics ... I'm softenin' my forks up for this riding today ...

I'm going to brave the dust at Foresthill OHV this weekend.

Thank God for Simple Green all purpose cleaner! Serious dust at Foresthill (Sugar Pine)...
Still had a great time and looking forward to heading back soon.

Rainy season here ... hard to tell what is gonna happen ...Probably a ride on the secondary roads only ...

The plan is to go ride outside of Bend, but probably not at China Hat/EFR since there is a race out that way. It has been raining and snowing a bit over that way so the dust we had a couple weeks ago should be much abated.

Aw heck, I dunno. Maybe there, or there, or perhaps up there. Or stay home and get some stuff done.

We need to be in Carson City Saturday night for a birthday dinner so we're thinking we might take the bikes with us and get some riding in on Sunday out in the Pine Nuts.
