• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Where's the Nuda?

I rode one in Bali recently. The dealer can't keep them on the sales floor. They are great fun and wheelie like there's no tomorrow. Too pricey for me in Indo. They tax the shit out of the thing up to where it costs $25k.

I hope thats not USD 25k.. I'll take a Ducati and another dirt bike at that price

Why do you think that Scotty. Keen on your thoughts. Write ups here are pretty good

It is USD!!! I love the bike but not THAT much! Anything over 250cc gets hit with a huge luxury tax. I'm with you on that except a Ducati would be around 40-45k here.

I honestly doubt they will sell well in NA either. They first couple of containers will sell out and then they will be welded to the floor.
As much as I would like to see them here, I think you're right. It would definitely be a niche market. Naked bikes sit like boat anchors at dealers in my area.

I was asked if I wanted the NUDA as a CDN Husq dealer and I responded NO. Yeah. I might sell 2 or 3 but I can guarantee that there will be $5000 of specialized tools that BMW will force dealers to take and I just dont get that clientelle into my dirt bike shop.

I would much rather have an Adventure 650 with a fairing. That I can sell.

Well i just emailed Husky/BMW N.A. I keep seeing videos of the bike and want to replace my SV1000. Ive been looking at the Ducati Monster and a friend of mine just got a M1100, it would truly be good to have options. Every time i bring my SMR out to a race, it gathers a crowd, every time i bring the TC out it also garners admiration. Not that I'm into attention grabbing, i just don't like to be a sheep. The Nuda would make a great companion to my flock of Huskys :D

If the US dealers think like this and that is what's stopping this bike from being available in the US I would like BMW to just bypass the Husky dealers and sell it through the BMW dealerships
They won't need any new tools because it shouldn't be any different from what the 800GS already takes
That way Husky dealers can stay in their comfort zone and BMW can have a return on their investment plus a younger crowd in their showrooms...

Yah its ashame.. They're trying to do something fresh and dealers are shunning the idea apparently.. BMW has plenty of floor space

I see this bike in the same class as the Ducati Hypermotard, which is a good seller in the US.

I spoke with my local dealer (Husky, Ducati & Triumph) in Oz on the weekend & he said Nuda sales were very slow.

He wasn't a big fan of the bike really, said that after riding it on the road and track it was missing something in terms of fun factor. He said you can easily see the BMW influence, but he didn't mean it as a compliment. He said he much rather ride my bike, being a well sorted TE630, far better throttle snap & fun.

He also said the new 650s we due to arrive around Aug/Sep.
