  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

All 2st Who makes these junk guards??

I did extensive research before choosing my OFG guards. This is the first time I've heard anything negative about them.

You bought a used bike with used rad guards and you want them to warranty it? Huh? You did not buy them and if was OFG I would tell you to get lost. My OFG guards have worked great. If the motor blows are you going to expect husky to replace it to?

If you are going to cry about a bent radiator then you need a new hobby. Those same braces have worked wonders for me even after peeling trees 3rd or 4th gear pinned.
BULLSHIT

Coffee let me first say thank you for this site. I appreciate it. I sent my rad to mylers for repair, and ordered bulletproofs at the same time from them. 50 to fix it. Yes they came on the bike, did you read anywhere where I asked them for money? Nope!!! So please don't put words in my mouth. I simply wrote an email explaining how I though they were unacceptable. Least they can do is respond.

Once again, take heed with the BPD's on a hit like you just had. Here's what happened when I dropped mine on a log with zero forward speed after a failed attempt to cross it.

Damage occurred from the lower shroud transferring the impact to the tabs on the radiator. Here's what I've done to help mitigate that damage in the future:

Still a work in progress :)

This is exactly the type of thread I started this site to get away from. If you have negative input or questions fine, just don't go over the top with regards to things. Clearly based on the responses in this thread is not adding to the positive vibe of the forum.
