  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

125-200cc Who's the Oldest?

I new WR 300, I don't think that my 610 would be very competitive in most areas.
Actually John, D-37 has changed a lot since I was involved. It used to be mostly high speed X country but has got increaseingly more technical over the years and I doubt that I would make a very good show of myself anymore, not because of my age but I was never very good at the technical stuff to start with and I probably haven't improved over the years.

People keep saying that but I feel that is not true.I started Dist 37 in 1980 on a XR500 then in 1984 rode ATKs up until 1999 then YZ400 and 450.Back then I really had a hard time racing But in 2007 it all changed and I went 2 stroke and ALL the courses are to easy.Really get a small light weight 125 or 250 and you will have fun again.
There is nothing out there yet I feel is to hard .But wait this weeken is King of the moto and there I will find my limit
Paul at Tri country has some smoking deals on 250 and 300 I have both if you ever want to try one

You're probably right that riding todays courses on a modern machine is no more difficult than the courses were inthe 70's with machines contemporary to that time period. I'm still probably not going to get back into competition but I would love to get together with you and just ride one of these days.

rajo call Paul nab that 250 before its too late wont be long till its gone and thats it!
I've been tempted to snag 300 for a couple of years now but life keeps throwing up road blocks. It seems like no matter how much money I make there is always something going on that takes priority over the next bike. I know that sounds like an excuse but if I want to keep the family together it just has to wait.

Wow looks like we could have our OWN Husky senior national for +40 - up. It would be a full gate! Unless all you +50 guys just have your own and don't include all of us under - 50 young whippersnappers !!

49 and just got off the phone with a series promoter to ask if i can run Sr.C now or after i turn 50. I turn 50 mid summer. Answer was not until i was 50+,so its vet.c for this year.
Still race Sr.B short track and Ice. But this year we will try a more local enduro series, got a new wr125 so why not,and they pay the husky bucks for the 2012/2113 bikes in my class.

I am 43 nearly 44 and been riding 30 years . i take my hat off to guys still racing over 40 let alone 50 Or 60. Looks like 60 is highest. Where s norm . Isn't he an oldie?

As i get older my hearing is not as good as it used to be and my eye sight is a lot worse. The good news is i don't get as scared with obstacles and never pull over for faster riders:thumbsup:

Just hit 49. The older I get, I just look for better lines to keep the speed up. Dang it hurts when you fall down now and after racing, just takes an extra day to walk normal. Also, older ya get, the thicker yur glasses get and number of pills increases.
doc says I have body of 30 year old. Think he needs glasses!

62 and NOT even thinking about retiring. You guys have no idea how young I think I am. I must admit that since I switched to a WR144. riding such a light bike has added some extra pizazz.
