• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Will CafeHusky Ban WoodsChick?

Will CafeHusky Ban WoodsChick?
I could change your title to "Banned" if you want :p
(of course you could too...)

...and I knew he wanted a carb'd version, so I'm glad kept looking til I found the perfect 950.
Does it have a carb? 2 carbs? I know nothing about the bike

If you are ever seeking a lunch destination/stopover along a super windy (curve-eee) road let me know :)

I am coming out. I have wanted one of those since the 950's first saw light of day. They are terrific bikes. What a caring Bride you are Woodsie.

You're coming out... That's funny! I've always thought they looked cool but never dreamed we'd own one. Eric really liked it when we rode a borrowed one down on the Carrizo Plain a few months back, though. I gotta say, it's waaaay more comfy for me than riding on the back of my own SV. Much easier on the knees, butt and motor

You need to give classes to our wives on gift selection!

Hah! I guess it does raise the bar, doesn't it? :D

Eric's a lucky man

I think we were both born under a good sign ;)

Bike brand does not matter, congratulations on 20 years!

Thanks! Easiest thing I've ever done :p

Can´t remember anyone being banned since I signed on here. Even owning a KayteeBoom evokes more pity than blame!

Nah...luckily banning doesn't happen very often around here. Eric and I pretty much swore we'd never own another KTM again (We still have a 450 and a 640 in the garage) but they're really the only ones putting out a bike like this. The GS's are way too big, as are the Triumph and other BMW's. The SuperTenere is an awesome streetbike and I'd have voted for one if we were going to be sticking to pavement but that ain't going to happen. The 950/990 is big and heavy, but it's got dirtbike suspension and dirtbike feel to it. Much more capable than the others for what we want to do with it.

I'll say!

Very cool! The lack of 'orange' is a big plus!

No kidding... There's a whole lot of surface area there and that much orange is just a little too much for me.

Beautiful bike, both of you are lucky indeed :) , but where are you going to put it?

 Well-played, Becky! :applause: And that photo was long before the Huskys started piling into the garage. My SV has been living on the back patio for awhile now, and it now has company in the form of the LC4. I should take another photo with the 950 wedged in there...it looks pretty funny towering over all our tiny little dirtbikes :o

It's got 2 carbs. Double your pleasure! Heh...a twin for my twin :D

And, yes, we wouldn't mind a ride out to your palatial digs again! We had a blast there last time :)

That is a great question! :D

Need a place to store some of those?

Well, as of now we've got my SV and the LC4 living on the patio in the back yard. Hopefully the WR426 will be gone after this coming weekend,
taking our friend David on an overnight camping demo ride :D And the LC4 might find a home in my ex-boyfrend's garage; stay tuned :busted:

Nice tow vehicle, probably tow my VW buggy.

They must modify the Super Tenere a lot for Dakar?

I don't know that the latest SuperTenere in its 1200cc form has been raced in the Dakar Rallye. Knowing firsthand how hard it is to pick one up in sand (don't ask...) I simply cannot imagine...
I know that Yamaha did quite well with the 750cc version years ago back when most of the bikes were humongous. They were pretty beefed-up, though...not exactly what you could buy down at your local Yamaha shop. Remember the TDM 850's? Folks thought they were boring and called them Tediums :p They's sell like nobody's business these days.

I'd like to see a picture of that

Always thought you were pretty smart.
Getting all that carring capacity. Now you can have Eric carry everything.
Now you can get a light wt, 125, 250,350.
Brilliant.
Later George
