  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Worldwide Speedo Failure Register

dunno bout the speedo by itself think ya gotta buy the whole kit which is around $130. i gotta get a new one myself after detsroyin one of my current 2. if ya want another oem husky one let me know. mine is brand new took it off before riding

A lot of missing pixels on my 510's. Knock wood with my son's 125, speedo has been running fine so far

Bit that is puzzling me is I pulled it apart and the housing was completely sealed with no trace of water anywhere in the system. What is causing them to fail as it is completely dead with nothing happening.

2011 TE 310 speedo does not register speed or mileage. Replaced cable but no change. Something in the computer must be dead. I have given up trying to deal with the dealer and husky in general. I purchased a used trail tech voyager off a friend who didn't need it and could use the money. So it was a win win unfortunately it's yet another loose loose for trying to get a dealer to work with me on husky warranty.

this might be a bit of a resurrection so ignore if you've tried this but my speedo did the same on my sm610. i found disconnecting both terminals of the battery and then reattaching got it working again

My speedo finally died! It was flicking on and off during rides which I thought may be a loose or broken wire in the loom some where. I also opened it up and its not wet inside. I checked out both possible causes as best I could and it all seems ok so it must be just dead. I am going to put a trail tech vapour on the bike which should work fine and even better now is the surround that can be purchased which has lights for blinkers, low fuel and high beam. It should keep the authorities happy as it is an ADR requirement in Australia. Trail tech should be easier to read as well as I am blind when it comes to fine print. Happy days!!!

So my dash is going mental now, it was switching on and off the last time i was out.
Plus ive got a blinking neutral light and i dont what fault is causing it.
This dash issue is the one major thing upsetting me about this bike.
08 sm610 @ 10000 miles

Any idea what this is for ?? Where it connects ?? It's a 2006 TE250.
