  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Glad that was a simple fix. since that seemed to be the culprit, you may want to consider making a papergasket for the seal there. When you take off the reed cage, you will see the numbers are stamped right on the sealing surface of the block. That is the culprit. Now we need to get you to stop touching your cylinder after you are done riding.

Thanks for all of the replies. Marcmo0 hit it on the head. I tightened up the vforce cage bolts as they were not snug enough. I ripped an fx temp strip off my kids bike and fired it up for a 10 minute idle and a few short trips around the yard, then another 5 minutes at 3200 rpm or so. It never got above 177F. I guess it always pays to check the simple stuff first.

I'll put some Zipty in it anyway as soon as I order.
Honda paper gaskets will fit the Husky reed cage and are not expensive. Bills put paper gaskets on my 09 WR250 before they shipped it new in the crate

@ Guy - One of the issues I see happening is with coolant. EngineIce uses water to thin their poly mixture and after that boils off, the poly gets as thick as 140W gear oil. Many of the guys on here remove any restrictions, such as thermostats and switch to XF coolant which will never thicken.
