• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

WR 400 -86

In my part of Sweden the spring just arrived so no skis intill December i presume
Spring is here as well but there is still snow on the ground-There will be epic mud as it warms. No riding yet

Eurofreak! I live just north of Stockholm and the golf course opens today. There will be golf in the afternoon and out riding one of the bikes tomorrow. More than +10 C tomorrow

:thumbsdown:40 F and rain for the next few days. Already very wet here with a large snow melt. Oh well!
Enjoy yourself! Post a few pictures too.

I was out this weekend and it run very well. Now I have taken it inside and removed the seat and tank. The frame is like brand new. The bike just need to be cleaned or replace the plastic and missing decals. The back brake light wire is missing. Anyone have pictures of how it should be conected to the switch? Upload some pictures.

There calling for a winter mix soon. It's just about mud season here. I'm jones'n to plant tomatoes.

I think the '86 / 400 wrx is one of the best LC huskys.

I read where the te300 of today has less power than the husky Italian 360 of years ago. I wish with the electric start being offered today we would see a new 400 2t and possibly a new 500 2t also. A new bigbore open class for motocross. The 360 was suppose to take the place of the 500 2t, did it?

a 2017 TE300 has 54 HP, I seriously doubt and italian 360 has more. more torque and rotating mass from bigger crank Maybe.

the 360 could have 10 more ponies but the newer engine would smash it in "rideability"

"rideability" is the truth
my 360 is fun but my Sherco 300 is so easy to ride it's stupid simple
but to the point the 360 has the torque, although my 430 puts it to shame

where did you read that?

I really miss the electric "leg" on the 400, although its bloody good at not stalling, get a bit tired and go hot into a corner in too high a gear and phut she has stopped rotating in the noise dept. on the kato its just a "press of a button ( sung to "its a jump to the left":D ) and away you go again...not the drama involved in firing the 400 back up in the middle of a deep pooh bog:mad:

An auto clutch would make a big stalling difference.
EFM will custom make one for you. E-start would be very cool on a big two stroke.
I can't seem to stall my Katoom 300 with the autoclutch.

They stopped making the 400 and 500's because the market wasn't there.

We've had that discussion somewhere on here already right?
Still, I've said it before too that e-start on these vintage bikes would be an awesome upgrade. Probably make the garage queen crowd shit a brick, but I bet a ton of people would quietly buy it.

I think you meant not enough real men riding ! I used to ride with an old timer that call anything 250cc and smaller boy bikes.

Now I have finished most of the easy work and put on new decals from EVO MX. Attach pictures from the work. Now I will just ride it and enjoy.
