  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I am curious about a few things on the 09 wr125, I have heard conflicting info.
The 09 supposedly has a new frame, is it the same as the 2010 tc250, and is it different from a 2009 txc 250.
Also, is the cylinder new starting new in 09, if so what is different. I realize it has the 50mm forks and a newer Mikuni carb.
I am loving my bike, just wandering what makes it so good.
Thanks, GP

Essentially the same frame as the 2010 TXC/TE/TC 250. The 08 CR125 got a new cylinder, power valves, and reed valve. In 09 both the CR and WR got the new parts. They changed to the TMXX carb in 09 from the TMX in 08 and before.

Thanks Walt,
What were the differences in the cr and wr powervalves that got changed out. That had already been done when I got my bike and I did not get the old parts.

They had a bad batch of powervelves that were cut wrong from their suppliers. That was rectified. The 2010 TXC250 and 90-10 WR125 have a similar frame but the bottom part is completely different (I own both bikes). This is the based on the third generation of the semi perimeter frame they came out with in 08. LOVE this frame. 09 and up WR125's have a slightly different transfer port setup than 08 and older.

That sounds good, if I decide to add a tc/tcx250 in the future, it should make a good mate to my 09 125, and I will be able to switch back and forth with relative ease.
Best of both worlds!
