  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

250-500cc WR300 Rear Brake Issues

Yeah, many of them list the same pads that the newer 4T's use for the 250/300. If you use an older bike, before 2008, you can usually find the right pads. They are the same pads that older KTM's used also.

Here's a list of bikes that use that same pad:

Unfortunately I can tell you the the husqvarna listings are not all correct.

Ok, I give. I have been dealing with fading rear brakes for awhile and have changed the fluid, changed the pads etc and still having issues. I am sure I boiled the fluid on a track day this spring and so changed fluid and pads but on a trail ride this weekend my rear brakes went away again.

I just ordered a galfer vented wave rotor that is supposed to fit my 09 wr300. My question is does this disc mount to the wheel differently i.e. different bolts etc.?

I know the stock one is kind of unique because it "floats" or more accurately rattles back there so I am not sure if I have to change anything for this new rotor.

I should have the rotor this week and I am trying to avoid any delays because I am anticipating being able to go on a ride this weekend!

Zilly if you have any problems getting something for the weekend, I have the solid mount (gets rid of the rattle) vented rotors with the correct mounting bolts. I am also in the same state so it would be easy to get to you.

Scott, anybody with your height and foot size should never have brake problems . Just be careful you don't want to scrub to much speed off while your racing !

Darn it. I bought it already on fleabay. I checked your site first and would have rather bought from you but didn't see the wave rotor for the rear. I might be hitting you up for bolts though.

Can I just purchase those from you anyways in case they don't come with it?

thanks

Ok, pads came in from Motorcycle Superstore. Wrong pads. FA368X is what they sent. The last time I ordered from them they got it wrong and I called them and told them they had the wrong number, and was told it would be fixed the next time I order. That was last fall. They are going back.

Ordered some from OEM cycle. They use the EBC part number so you can actually select the FA208X pads yourself.

The problem is he's been riding those big green monsters for too long. With 13:1 compression and no flywheel you don't need a rear brake. You turn off the gas and it throws you over the bars.

Earl61 and Motorhead you both have it right, HA! Been a little spoiled with the 4T the last 6 years, but the new 2T is so much faster in the woods (reference: Rear Brake failure!), and I don't feel like I'm wrestling a green pig anymore! Unfortunately even with my large foot size I still couldn't stop my monster 300, she wants to go all the time :D
So I take it the FA208X is the correct part # then? Going to my bike shop today to order them and pick up some parts.

Broken Biker, I have adjusted the controls just the way I like it, and I'm not a brake dragger. So that is my irritation concerning the whole thing. I definitely boiled the fluid BIG TIME, as when I took off the rear brake line to put on the Slavens Racing Brake Cooler, no fluid even came out! Bel-Ray sells some high priced/ low quality fluid!
On the plus side, got everything I need ordered yesterday, now if I can get it all together before the next race....not gonna race again until I get this problem fixed :(
Thanks again Motorhead for the info!!

Thanks, unfortunately the rain killed another race again :( Got to say I wasn't too dissapointed, I am absolutely done with mud races this year!!
