• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TE/TC ZipTy Racing 4CS mod suspension A++++

My brother started revalving my 300... he was pretty sure he was going to use Ty but wanted to play with before... it had a little "too much" valving for him... he likes it more old school, light valving heavy spring.... needless to say after 3 tries he isnt even going to send to Ty now.... So its hard to believe that a guy in his garage (great mechanic tho) can figure it out and it cost $1000 plus with some others....

I added a weave bracelet that one of my Mexico City nephews made...and also added the Pro Circuit REB adjusters and the REB sticker for the ex- COMP side fork.

Last time in for dork service I had ZipTy Racing install a GPR 4 that had on the shelf and today I added a zip tie/hose spacer for my throttle cable, I had one of those alloy ones but it broke. Now back to the suspension thread

so the 2016 4CS forks got revised settings…well I think they did after riding my 2016 TE300 except they are even worse :)
I found the very initial part of the stroke is like a jackhammer, they skip over a lot of terrain and they still deflect off rocks and roots…
I have a the full Kreft setup on my 2015 6 day pumpkin and its looking like this monster is going to get the same !!

have you tried terry hays 4cs setup?

No I havn't mate. I've previously had fork revalves done by Shock Treatment but wasn't very impressed, just a personal thing I guess. I know the Kreft/MXtech with Huck Valves really works for the 4CS forks so I'll go down that route again or try suspension matters in QLD.

What terry has for the 4cs works good, real good, that is what i currently use. I know Dave was doing some testing with a combination of terry and adams stuff but haven't touched base for a while to see how he was progressing with it. I was using a kreft variant from dave but liked terry's better for my riding. Dave is very easy to deal with and a nice bloke, as is terry.
Kreft was dear enough before but now with the aussie dollar it would be $$$$

Thats my concern right now too, parts alone were $750 AU when I had my KTM 6 days redone …but it works well . I have followed Terrys setup on some other forums and most people are really happy with his fix, and he definitely knows his stuff.
Im going to call Dave and have a yarn to him to see what the latest is, i'll report back with my forks after they have some black magic worked on them.
To be fair I need to go one rate heavier on the stock springs so right now my take on the forks is a little skewed.

I just rode my 4CS fitted with SSS carts today for the first time, I posted a review on here.
they are good
