my wheels are balanced as well, with the rim lock installed the rear used almost 90 grams of sticky weights, that is alot of vibes cured right there. The front used a faily big length of sticky weight as well. Also I installed EBC red pad F &R but after riding/ testing on Sat I dont like them in the front, the brake feels spongy with the EBC Reds up front. The rear is fine and never fades. I will clean and reintall the OEM Brembo sinteres metal pads up front.
Update to the TE310, been using MotoRex 10w60 stuff is really good, clutch feel much better. Also added CV4 silver insulation tape to the underside of the fuel tank. I thought about it a couple of times I stopped when she was very hot and it took a few minutes to re-start may have been a heated fuel issue and I had the stuff sitting in the garage anyway. And again I need to say that the Spectro Zinc chain lube is great. Also I removed the barb fitting oil drain plug and installed the standard mag plug. I put a sealing (vacuum) cap over the lower fitting of the catch tank (frame backbone) left the crankcase breather tube in place where it has always been (middle fitting) as well as the upper forward tube with the K&N crankcase vent filter on it. In this config some liquid oil can and will pool up at the bottom of the catch tank, but if it gets to high it will drain back into the crankcase vent. That barb fitting with hose clamp return line has always been a little leaky down below anyway. So now the crankcase can vent with good volume as designed but without the built in liquid oil to oil pan return line. This setup has less fail points. FYI, ZipTy told me that the 310 has more crankcase pressure and that it does vent more oil from the breather than the 250 model. PS the 310 looks much better in the photos
ZipTy suspended front and rear, Rear was good but then it blew at a race. Sent it to ZipTy it came back much better. Later I sent ZipTy my forks after the left started leaking (it had a good rock scrape up near the seal). Just put 2 rides on the forks, and they came back "more racey" sitting a little higher in the travel and both ends work together well now and as expected from a Ty Davis tuned suspension the faster and harder you ride it the better it all works, good service competitive price, great results. see copy of letter to the ZipTy crew. Steve and the ZipTy crew, As you all know you did my shock after my day 2 blowout at the gorman qualifier, it was much improved and as expected from a Ty Davis tuned shock it works in all regimes from hard enduro rocks to more open fast stuff. And now the forks are ZipTy tuned installed and tested, I have 2 solid days of 2 different terrain tests, day one was on tight rocky S/T and followed by a trials type hard enduro trail loop with boulders and football sized loose rocks, forks kept me right on line with no out of control deflections. Day 2 was more open high dez S/T with some tough sections thrown in, as I expected from ZipTy tuned forks the harder I rode and hit corners the better the package works. For me the shock was the big change item, the forks seemed to be less of a big change while before ZipTy, they were in as I got it, LR Race Tech mode were plush but seemed to ride a little deeper in the travel, with the same clicker settings the front feel like it rides higher in the travel and feels less loaded and heavy up front. I run the forks up to the first ring. Handling of this X-Lite chassis is light and fun, my front pirelli scorpion pro fim is little rounded and I was riding into and out of corners with the bars crossed up under full control (not the fastest way around but fun. Thanks ZipTy racing, my old tank ass should be ready for my big step into the Tecate HS 50A class from my lifelong B rider level.( I'll be a B until then)
This is one cool bike ... I'm leaning way towards 2t machines now but this 4 banger makes me consider another 6 SPD machine ... What is the hr count on this bike now? You'll probably want a new bike next year to replace this one? This reminds of of when I purchased my first Husky from Bill at BMP ... He sold me some tie-downs also that had his brand on them and said "I think these are so good strong ties ...they should last a long time" ... His brand has worn off but still using them after 10 yrs and no problems with them yet and they still work perfectly ...
You're selling the TE? I thought you were hanging onto it. Makes sense though. How's the TXC coming along? Transfer parts yet?
