Nope, I have NetFlix and it says that this movie isn't available, or it's checked out or something. Bob is mailing me his DVD. Because it is out of print and difficult to come by I am going to offer to make a DVD copy for anyone who wants one, just PM me your mailing address. I am not sure how legal this is, but because they are no longer making more copies I feel it is ok?
I watched it before from Netflix.... hmmm, just added to the queue (sort of) "Status unknown"... that is frustrating. Actually it let me 'save' it, as opposed to 'adding it' to the queue, that might explain why the other movies of 'status unknown' have not been shipped to me after 2 years...
We will be staying at a little hotel in the village. Frankly the name escapes me at the moment. Its nice, and they do up a big family style dinner, lots of fresh seafood. Hardcopy maps--usually the best is considered to be the Baja Almanac. It goes in and out of print. They also make a much smaller map thats not half bad. AAA makes an ok sort of basic reference map that will have most of our route - at least the easy option -- on it. The hard option will be very close.
O.K., O.K., O.K., I need a little help or maybe just a reality check. How long do I have to be together/married to go on a trip like this without my wife? How do I start preparing my wife for the "Hey I am going to Baja for a couple a days" talk. Currently I have a "no leaving the county without me" rule started after an I'll fated rugby trip to San Diego(was detained by a foreign entity for a few days.) She always says o.k. but when I get home, guess what, not o.k. HELP!
One of the Baja riders from the last trip had a nice Topo of Baja and downloaded it into everyone's GPS (that wanted it). That was Blake (not sure of his Cafe Husky handle) and I think he'll be going on this ride too. Took about 5 min. for him to set everyone up,....he's a geek on the GPS and computer stuff. AAA has a pretty good Baja map for the larger picture. I was so busy trying to keep the shiny side up that I never made use of my GPS thought it was running fine.
Yep that's me! Ill do the same on this trip if anyone wants me to. If you want to buy the GPS topo maps that I have for Garmin, you can buy and download them here: http://www.lbmaps.com/
I am now the proud owner of a nearly-new TimeRider DVD Wanted to watch it again last night but I ran out of time. Dropped off my passport renewal thingy on Friday, they said I'd have it in 1-3 weeks! more And to top it all off, Eric spoke with his boss (who's done a bit of riding in Baja himself) Friday and he says getting the time off for Baja shoud be no problem!! Even more So I'm guessing you should put me and the man on the list of riders, Mike! Oh boy...is it almost Valentine's Day? BajaBoundChick
Hello: Pay VERY close attention..... the end will wierd you out a little. But a lot of cool riding scenes....... enjoy..... S.A.
You never did reveal any real details about the last trip and now you are handing out cautionary notes. What's up with that? What should we be expecting and why is it going to "weird us out"? Oh wait a minute I guess you are talking about the final scenes in timerider. I thought you meant that that there was something on the end of the Baja ride that was freaky.:bonk:
Sorry guys.. I was talking to "Woods Chick" about the movie..... As far as the last trip, the only thing besides all of the hideous snoring at night was watching my buddy do a flying "W" and dislocating his shoulder ! That was awesome!!! But when George and Mike are near by you have no and I mean "NO" worries They new what to do and how to do it. If you're going down there with them, you will be in good hands and everybody will have fun (no matter what level rider you are). Watching Timerider first is just the icing on the cake. I'll still can't find a red feather duster Happy Trails S. A.
Hello Printgoon: My have has a big Life Insurance policy on me..... she doesn't mind at all when these rides come along...... good luck....
Hello Printgoon: My wife has a big Life Insurance policy on me, she doesn't mind at all when these trips come along..... just an idea, good luck......
Ok, so I really want to go on this trip, but it IS over Valentines day. That normally wouldn't be a problem for me as my girlfriend rides her Plated XR400 and my CRF250X (when she wants something lighter) and is a really good rider. She just did the LA-B-V 2 day ride with me (I saw Bob, AKA Smoker Ace there), and kicked some major butt. So I would just bring her along, but her mom is having surgery the week before the trip, so I don't know if we'll be able to make it. It really depends on how well she is doing after the surgery. It's kinda a bummer, but I will know more as the time gets closer. This just reminds me that there are more important things in life than a ride in Baja with some of the best people in this sport. -Blake
Your right about more important things than a Baja ride with these guys. BUT DAMN FEW AND FAR BETWEEN !!
