    Road miles:
Minimum will be 35 miles split in two sections. Yes it sucks, but its only 15-20 minutes, then alot of hours dirt, then 15-20 minutes again.
It is possible to take more pavement, if riders need to (tired, broken, in a hurry, whatever) and especially the 610 guys might choose to do so, but it will only be an option. Everyone is encouraged to take the dirt-610's as well.
We know all the trails, beach sections, options, etc. and so we can be flexible depending on 'how its going'
Most guys do think its mostly pavement from San Felipe to Bay of LA.
    But its not.

    Caravan:
You can meet us at the Mc Donalds in Calexico (the border) at 2pm on Friday and follow us down. I dont know of a safe place to park and leave your truck on the US side. :excuseme: I dont know of anyone coming from Arizona, but i could also be wrong about that?

    Come join us !!!

If I drink to much, I am a see-food guy. Keep me away from the ta-kill-ya.

Really, if there is an order that needs to be placed, I am open for BEEF, not a deal breaker, but prefered or both.

How about a pool of who needs a ride and who has room? I would hate to see alot of people driving solo. Takers?? Givers??

PALMER84ONE AKA Gary, Tacoma quad cab room for 3 bikes plus 2 riders and gear. Or lone ranger who will or can be at Uptite Fri. morning....

    thanks guys

Thanks Mike Kay for the info.
Thanks also Palmer840ne (Gary). That is exactly what I'm asking about. We need to coordinate some carpooling.

Great idea Gary, we should start thinking about car pool stuff. I have my exploerer and a three rail trailer but rather than soloing with a trailer I would prefer to meet some where like Uptite and load gear in a truck. It makes the ride down nicer and sharing the gas/insurance expenses helps everyone.

Great idea about carpooling. With so many guys going, i will just leave it up to y'all to figure it out.

IF YOU HAVE ROOM IN YOUR TRUCK, PLEASE POST, AND YOUR TOWN/ROUTE

    I am now full. :excuseme:

Meat is good. We will have them do some beef to go with the seafood.

I'm kinda glad that you posted that there would be bailout options. I wreched my back out the other day (old injury that haunts me from time to time) and I don't know what condition I'll be in two weeks from now. The last thing I wanted to do was get down there, start hurting real bad and end up being a burden for the others. I feel more comfortable knowing that I could exit gracefully with out impacting everyone elses fun.

Not sure if this should be another thread or just left here???
As discussed, we need to start a carpool buddy system. I live in the OC so, I will be at Uptite that morning to tag along or be a chauffeur and share the expense.
As stated I can bring two (2) extra bikes, gear and riders.
I can also bring a driver to return my truck to home and tag along with others. If there is room. (I will need to know if I am a tagger or a chauffeur before that.)
PM me If you have room for one more or would like to share a ride.

    Thanks,
    Gary

I don't want to speak for Greg, but I believe we'll have a spot open from the PNW to Mexico!

I was wondering how much extra fuel I should carry for this ride. I have the stock TXC tank and never really need a larger tank where we ride so buying a couple of IMS tanks doesn't seem sensible for one ride. I was thinking of getting some MSR fuel bottles.
    Thanks

Which Mc Donalds in Calexico? A web search revealed two in town. I assume it's the one on Imperial, aka hwy 111.

I also have the 1.9 stock tank and will be carrying four x 33 oz MSR bottles for an extra gallon.

Best way to hump the extra gas is with bleach bottles, just duct tape the bottom and sides cactus protection. They just hang off your fanny pak belt after 5 min don't even know it's there. 30 min later it's in the tank anyway. And still have over 100 to go. Would plan on 2 anyway looks like possibly 35-40 riders depending on how many bail out last minute. If wind up with 1 chase truck it would have to be the Valdiez so plan on 2 gal, if don't need it then will bury it for the return run. Thing about Mex is the term Maybe Menyona translated No Gas Maybe tomorrow. Later George

I'm trying real hard to get there and be a chase driver.

You have to. If you don't everyone will have to carry 5 gal's min. Not one to put any pressure on you just a motovational jab. Later George

Sometimes willy nilly works out just fine.

If you change your mind and if it helps let me know; I can overnight a whole box of willy nilly to ya. I've got plenty of it laying around.
