Good news for us Canadians. Just seen this... Im going to call my local ktm dealer to see how true it is. http://healthycanadians.gc.ca/recall-alert-rappel-avis/tc/2015/55396r-eng.php#details-details
Called dealer, they never heard about it but they checked my VIN and it brings up no recall references...
My guess is the Canadian government is making them recall our bikes but not telling them how to do it. Hense the section where it states "Correction: To be determined" Its better than i expected to see at least there is some light at the end of the tunnel Advisory details On certain motorcycles, the engine could stall without warning. This could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: To be determined.
Very pleased to see it, anyone who has not lodged an NHTSA complaint fo it and now refer to the Canadian recall and those who have lodged a report contact NHTSA and let them know to add to the pressure
There is now a press article with regard to the Husky ECU and support problems http://motorbikewriter.com/husqvarna-and-ktm-safety-recalls/
That is a great article, and the writer actually got it right. "Since BMW sold Husqvarna to a KTM board member in January 2013..." This is one of the first articles ever where it has been stated correctly. Well actually it was sold to Pierer Industries, owned/run by the KTM board member: Stefan Pierer. Then there is the second part, something that maybe should be griped about more. "KTM has also recalled the Freeride 350 Model Year 2012-2016 and Freeride 250 R Model Year 2014-2016 over problems with the tank breather which could expose riders to hazardous fumes and a potential fire risk." A few TR650 owners have experienced gas in the face or similar, from a faulty check valve.
