• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Seats

Anyone pick up the low seat from SC yet? I'm thinking it may be just what I need to get more than one toe of one boot on the ground at a stop light. Just not sure how comfortable it will be on longer trips.

I shaved just a bit of the hump at the rear down, just rounded over the "cliff" a tiny bit. It installed easily, very well made, the red stitching looks cool and the extra padded in the seat cover itself is in the right place. The foam density is definitely better than the stock seat.
Took my first long ride last weekend (900 mi. over 3 days) and maybe my ass is made funny or something but I didn't get on well with it especially the third day,
The seams where the red stitching are dig into where my legs connect to my butt, got fairly painful before I got home. I may switch back to the stock seat and see how it feels.

Well, Wolftrax's photos pushed me over the edge. Thanks for posting them. When I called to order my tall version I explained that i was gravitationally enhanced (280ish) and they said no problem, they mold a denser version based on my atypical weight. Should ship in a few days, I'm excited.

Great peeps there.

,
Installed my Tall SC seat today. Went pretty well for a total amateur. Fit's me really nice, need to dry some miles with it to get a sense of how it holds up. My first impression is it's too soft, but we'll see.

For TR650 riders in the Pacific NW. The krussell garage now has an air stapler, enough 3m 77 adhesive, staples, and silicon spray to do about a hundred SC installs. I share well, you can borrow and/or just do yours in my garage if you want.

Did mine today, and I mirror your comments on the install!! Wanna do more, it was so fun!!

Seat does seem soft and have not done enough miles to see if it it a long term fix. It did raise the CG a bit so have to get used to that - does put my helmet in clean air with the Cee Bailey screen ---

Please use the classifieds and Conversations to buy/sell/trade things.

Each week I get a lot of emails asking if something is 'still available' in threads like this from many years ago.

Sorry Coffee, I have moved my dealings to PM.

It is not a big deal, at all, just want to be able to keep up with my emails... and I eventually try to reply to all of them, instead of ignoring those types of things like other sites do.

In an ideal world people would look at the dates of the discussion, and hopefully realize that the Contact Us link could not possibly reach the proper people - but people do not do that.

..(SOLD!)I don't reckon I'm breaking any rules...but I just posted in the classifieds a Seat Concepts Tall seat used for sale....I tried it just decided I liked the stock height better..it's in the classified section at a good savings over new..

If I'm breaking rules here please nuke the post!

......SOLD....SOLD....

I just did a deal with another member to swap seats. I think the tall SC seat is the balls! Lets me sit in a much more natural position rather than fighting the bucket. Thank you to Wolftrax for swapping his Tall SC seat for my stock seat! I love it.

The only issue is that people find this site via the internet search engines, then they use the 'Contact Us' link which generates an email which is sent to me. Even many years later.

Why don't you just toss up a link to your ad in the classifieds? Then when people try to follow the link years from now they will see it is no longer available (like a old link to a Craigs List or ebay ad).

I got lucky the same way....a gentleman on Adv got an SC Tall kit and installed it - too tall. Wanted to go back to stock.
I offered up my pristine oem seat as a straight-up trade and we did the deal.

It's the 3rd SC I've had, and is the seat the bike should have come with (IMO)...
Offroad I never liked the step and I'm tall enough that the SC Tall is about as comfortable a seat as I could have put on the bike.

I ordered the kit from Seat Concepts for my Strada a month or so ago. I had it it installed locally after dis-assembly as my staple gun was not up to the task. In any case, it came out beautifully and looks great (black carbon fiber with red stitching) with the bike. It definitely allows me about 2-3 hours in the saddle before I need to stop. I highly recommend and this may be the only modification I do to the bike until it is time to find new tires.

Just had mine fitted as the buying the stapler and staples etc was 3 times more than getting an upholsterer to fit it.

On the first ride I noticed a marked improvement over the stock seat and am very happy:banana:

As some of you may have seen on another thread, my dog decided that I definitely need a tall seat from seat concepts!

If only she could come up with a solution to my stalling/stumbling problems.
