Canard just has awful luck. A healthy Trey Canard is a beast, but he's almost never healthy. Always seems to be something. This last incident was small in comparison to other injuries. I didn't even know Barcia was injured until race time when I saw Filthy Phil filling in for him. Stewart may wanna just retire. He was cleared to race in San Diego, said he felt 100% in Anaheim and opted out? Certainly not being employed by me. Baggett was hurt before the season even started - WTH???
Then there's this from the good people at Vurb (thanks guys): http://vurbmoto.com/source/jake-weimer-rch/26783/ Weimer to RCH!
It does seem that MX in today's format is chewing up and spitting out a lot of riders. it has given me more respect for Dungey and his consistent/fast/fundamental riding style.
I was looking forward to seeing the race live Saturday night at the HnH race under the stars, but it was to windy and cold to sit outside and catch pneumonia before the race.
Halfway through the championships, Osborne is a solid 3rd in the 250 class And another major change in the same class but I don't want to spoil in case some reader has not seen the race yet...
They do for sure, but what happened to webb's bike? I saw him brake hard with the rear before the curve, and then he stalled the bike ? A lot of smoke, had to pull out , and then he finally rejoined... Weird
He said something about gas cap vapor lock? They interviewed him after the race and he said it had happened once before. Then he kicked it once, it fired up, and he rode away like nothing had happened during the race.
Bad luck. Last year a lot of yamahas at the Touquet enduro in France refused to fire after refueling at the pit stop. Two or three guys were kinda leading the race and lost it after trying to kick their bike at least 50 times without success... Anyway that makes the 250 championship alive
Mapping has a lot to do with that. I remapped my 2011 YZ450 with a GYTR tuner and it made a big difference in performance but was harder to start so I went back and adjusted the low rpm fuel and timing, now you can kick it as slow as if you're trying to find TDC and it will start. It also made it much less likely to flame out.
direct from KTM factory services (my friend has a factory services Husky "FC350" build machine)--- "yes sometimes you can get "vapor" lock, you need to pop the QD on the fuel line from the tank to the fuel manifold." so they did that and the beast started right up and continued to run fine.
Yep, good to see, but they lost a lot of energy in the semis on a very demanding track. And there was the sad sight of Osbourne leaving the track on the medics ATV
How does she love me? Let me count the ways... 1. Supports my racing 2. Gets me a race bike 3. Wants to come sit in the desert waiting for me to pit 4. Gets us Supercross tix for this Saturday at Petco! 5. Gets pit passes and parking 6. Makes sure our daughter who just got stationed in SD gets to come too!
Please add my wife's email to the list. After 20 years, they generally don't support anymore, and at best they don't care...
