I think you almost have the split of tech right except the 450, I think gas gas just got the xlite 250/310.
Ski Doo went to Rotax for the motor, i dont know what company was responsible for the deveolpment of the injection system. Its a shame a bike manufacturer hasnt approached Rotax about a single cyl 2t.

It's like marriage.... Names change but bloodlines do not. The Italian Huskies have direct bloodline connectivity. When it comes to DNA I'll leave it up to the doctors but I bet they cut a mm away and find stickers and bodywork cover up different ancestry.
New toplevel group "SWM Motorcycles - Italy", or merge with existing eg "610/630/650" or something else entirely?
Probably. Though it does lead to splintering. There will be three separate 4st, three separate 2st, and three separate 600+ groups. I already find myself checking both TR650 and 610/630 forums, since I'm mostly interested in big singles. There's not that much traffic in either group. I could imagine a shared "600+" forum could be quite lively.
Next question: eventually SWM will develops bikes completely on their own. With less and less Husky DNA. Will those still be featured because of the brand roots?
At that point they would be considered cousins. Maybe would need to be cast away at that point since the legacy is no longer tied to or related to Husqvarna design or tech. If that tech. is brought forward then the DNA stays intact. If it is severed like KTM Husqvarna but was part of a corporate structure it would be different but nothing is changing that so it would need to be severed, unless the cousins part of this site is used for growth and sponsor support in that area. Just my thoughts.... As few sites exist with the depth of Cafe Husky. To have the enthusiast base here and not so splintered is a good thing. Makes the brand strong but maybe not in the eyes of each company per se, but is in the eye of the riders, buyers, enthusiasts, and aftermarket and shop sponsors who are not happy with the structure of other websites.
