Here is another sprocket alternative for the 630. ttp://www.sprocketcenter.com/p/1104400/superlite-520-black-steel-rear-off-road-sprocket---husqvarna.html Bought a 45t last year. Only 4000km on sprocket but is still like new!
Well, cripes. Supersprox just called. They don't have a 42 in red and won't get one until the first of the year. My only other options were blue or gold. Blue obviously won't work, so I went with gold. Oh well, it matches the chain I suppose!
Got it all installed tonight. The chain might be a tad loose. I tend to err on the loose side just to be safe. Once it breaks in and stretches a little, I may have to take a link out. The gold doesn't look to bad, really.
Gold? Looks like KTM orange to me, haha. Anyway once you get it marinated well with chain lube you won't see much color anyway. _
Motul Chain lube is what I like to use.. the off road version keeps the Gold chains looking good and doesn't build up..
I've been using Bel Ray Superclean. It leaves a white film on the chain, but it doesn't fling off and/or attract dirt.
yea thats a bummer that they didnt have red? Did they say anything if they had red in different teeth amounts? I love red but the gold doesnt look to bad like you said it kinda matchs the chain.
They did have a red with more teeth. The closest red one to stock they had was a 43. I wasn't interested in playing with the gearing, even though 43 is only one more tooth. I had two reasons for that; highway riding (which I do a lot of) and the speedometer/tripmeter/odometer accuracy. After my stuff arrived, I realized that changing the gearing won't have an impact on the gauge cluster, since the sensor uses a magnet in the brake rotor. It's not like a sportbike that reads it from inside the tranny. So, unless I'm mistaken, playing with sprocket sizes on this bikes will have no impact at all on speedo/odometer readings.
No kidding! The thought just never crossed my mind, coming from sportbikes. There, changing the gearing meant having to buy a speedohealer or just living with inaccurate gauges.
