Thank you for the feedback. It really helps manage peoples expectations. I think most here understand delays happen.
I have made many orders with them and never ever had an issue. Just gotta remember that this is a brand new part and there are huge differences between prototyping vs production processes. Working in engineering for a manufacturing company...I deal with this almost daily so I feel their pain. These first couple batches of bars are basically beta production runs which is meant to address all of the "bugs" in the production process. Unfortunatly for us (and them), they have been hit with several "bugs" causing ship dates to be pushed back. That being said...lets pretend for a second that this part had been out on the market for a while (many months or even years) and then they started having these same types delays with that part....then that would be unacceptable ...but this isn't the case. Suck's, but it is what it is. I just happen to be in a position to where I am not in immediate need of the bars, so I can wait a little longer.
I called them last Tuesday and was told they had one (silver) on the shelf. Seeing as I live just south of Seattle an hour and a half later it was mine. The installation was a breeze, it only took about 30 minutes to put it on.
any further word on the alt rider bars being compatible (or not compatible) with the B&B skidplate? that will be my (hopeful) setup once the bars arrive...
I have a B&B too and am confident they will be fine. They mount way higher up with their own bolts instead of relying on an egine bolt. In CRSAM's pic, the mount is as high as that botom bar - they clamp themselves together from each side. I like the way they did it.
I reckon you'll be ok. I thought there may have been a problem since I went to fit my SW-Motech bars, but looking closer to the mounting point, it looks higher than the SWM ones. SW-Motech use the same engine mounting bolt that the B&B plate uses for the upper front bracket. I'll post up some pics when I make the mods
It's the Husky skid plate. What I like about it is that I only need to remove one bolt to take it off so when I change the oil I can also clean the babies bottom and the gunk and mud off the plate.
Here are my silver Altriders waiting for the morning light to be mounted up and taken for a test ride!
Crash bars installed, it was worth the wait! Now can't wait to get my skid plate from Altrider. Chickens approve!
