• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

1972 450CR

Just a few shots of recent progress.
My first experience with a Husky Clutch, I am thankful for this site as I discovered a washer was missing:

Finally the clutch cover installed. Haven't located the 450 CR decal yet but I have time.
I was able to get a replacement swing arm that is straight!

Looks great! For decal...... Mine is wrong and says 390 OR. It should be 390 CR.
What I will do down the road, is use chrome tape, match the font size up on my computer then go have some graphics place make me the numbers and letters to put on. Just thought?

That a great idea ! I had not thought of that.

Now I have to order a base gasket! I had one and can't find it, must have gotten in the trash. My work bench has been a disaster.

Well, at least you didn't throw your rear motor mounts away after chrome plating them!

Throwing out a chromed motor mount, especially those unobtanium Bufo bolts..... I would have to open a bottle of tequila and drown myself.

That's just sad.

I've been lurking watching this build. You are doing a wonderful job. Good choice on the shocks. They can be rebuilt and are period correct.

Thanks for the find. I see they have a 390 CR decal to!

I'll call and place an order. I can't get the drop down menus to work on my phone.
