• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

1983 Husky 430WR Resto NETRA Hare Scrambles

The only other pipe I have belongs to my 86 400WR as a spare . The primary pipe that came with it is a Husky Products pipe made by George Erl and I plan to build with that. The PO was a sheet metal technician and he made a prototype appearing replica of a Dynoport chamber. Looks kinda cobby but true prototype in the 70's were no better.

If you want I can try to get you cone and header measurements off the good one that I have

Thanks Jim, One of my buddies may have one for me. if that doesn't fit, i'll be back to you. Thanks for checking and offering. Much appreciated.

if you can find a later water cooler....put in the clutch and primary gear....better ration and easier start up....have to go up a tooth or 2 on front though

Do you also need the mating kickstart gear since I recall that engages with the clutch gear

Hi Guys, I'm searching for a kickstarter "stop" for 83 430 WR.
any ideas where I can get one? is someone making them?

Wow, cool bike. The 1983 Husqvarna WR has to be the prettiest bike ever made. I rode an 87 Husky 430 in Netra Enduros for a few years. Then I got an 07 Husaberg 550. It was just as fun riding the 430. Got way more looks and thumbs up being on the nostalgic bike. This was before the Netra vintage classes came about.

Thanks, The 83 and 84 250WR's we the bike we all lusted after but couldn't afford. Finding a 250 is pretty rare. The 430 sort of found me so I couldn't resist. These days I prefer to ride old bikes. I race NETRA Vintage on a 83 IT250. The Husky's IT's, KDX's and PE's all have their following.
There still is brand loyalty out there which is really cool. A few of my buddies are restoring Huskies for next season.
Not sure if you are into this, but there is a pretty nice 86 WR250 near you. (Charlton City Craigs) The guy wants $900 for it. I texted him and have a few photos. If I didn't swear off LC bikes, i'd grab it.

It's no wonder I couldn't find the 250. He spelled the name wrong. I saw the 400 in western Mass CL. That went within a couple days. It crossed my mind to grab it. But, I have no where to put any more bikes. Hopefully someone is going to fix it up and take it out.
