• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

1984 WR400 help

I have 84 all parts and 84 lc parts and the 81 to 88 tech data but no manual for the lc in 84. the 86 manual should be ok for timing etc

I dont believe so but smarter people than me can assist your enquiry better..wait, the clutch was very different.

the manuals are all gone from here..they were here when this thread started

ya, they dont work anymore. but i saved a handful of them when they worked... however the closest there was to an 84 2T was the 86 2T. looks like i can buy one online for about $25US. seems silly just to find the timing though.

Use Google Archive you might be able to find some files archived from years gone by. I did it for Cafe Husky but could only find files from 2012 and not all of them were there. I dont recall seeing the 84 manual.

PM me your email address and I'll either send you the entire manual or whatever parts of it you need.
Tony.

Hey guys. Been busy lately, but got the indicator in it today.

1.5mm is equal to about .060 inches

So I found tdc, went back .060 inches, and it seemed to be right on the money already.

Advice welcome :)

I believe timing should be 2.2-1.8mm but you will not hurt anything by starting at 1.5mm and working your way to more advance.

leaving it a tad retarded is the go, it will start by waving your foot at it. if you find you are wringing its neck looking for more power, advance it up and kick it harder.

thanks guys.

im more so looking for stock power. i dont think i have it but im close. i think you guys saw the video of it running a little bit back, and someone mentioned it sounded to retarded, and another mentioned 4 stroking.

i noticed the other day that my front axle nut was missing..... mustve fallen out on the trails last ride.... scary!

would anybody know the thread of this? im assuming its metric right? m16 fine thread? m16 x 1.5? no local stores have it. im trying mcmaster. thanks guys
