    TE = 4st Enduro & TC = 4st Cross

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2010 TC 250 convert to enduro?

Yeah sweet man. What have u done to the suspension, gearing etc...

Hows the reliability in race conditions to.

The gears are the same than Te, without the 6 and a tall final ratio. This result in a very closed 5 speeds.
The 1st is too tall, and the 5 too short, can run fast but at 12.000 rpm. I'm running with 13-50 and 120-90/18.
The bike stalls too much, need a flywheel weight.
When stall it's very hard to start, need a fine carburetion.
The rear suspension it's perfect for enduro and XC, but you need to revalve the fork, only the compression stack.
The front springs are 4.4.

The kick starter shaft broken very easy and now is very hard to find, I'm months waiting for new one and finally buy a used shaft in eBay.
Piston has a long life but no their rings.

Looks pretty, runs fast, is the lightest 4 Stroke bike you can buy, very racing chassis.....
But I think is not the moment for buy one.

Here's a video response with one of my 010 TC250 eating a hill climb. Just happened to have been out riding and made this one. Pretty much a puss at the bottom climb but I get better ... Its an open road and I gotta be responsible. It's ~pretty steep and those ruts and rocks are large ... There is some real chop along the way that gets ~chewed by that ~stock bike. Not pinned and not on the limiter either and trying to keep in the meat of the powerband and get comfortable.

At the ~:57 sec mark where I pulled the wheel off the ground in 4th gear... it could have been a 5th gear wheelie just as easy and the bike could have topped out there also at 50++mph? ... Clueless on your racing there but the TXC models are the bikes with the speed for cross-country stuff.

cool man, looks quite smooth. not sure if I can get the txc here in AU.

man if they were my streets, hahah,

What do u mean by not the moment to buy one?
The post-service is not in the best moment...
Some parts are unavailable for long time.
Another personal think is the cylinder head, newest "red head" is more reliable, with steel valves and a solid construction.

That's probably about 3\4 throttle ... I have an old wrist injury and I have lost about all movement in my throttle wrist and have to drop my entire shoulder way down to get pinned so I don't do that very often ... Its just the way I ride today ...

My 08 TXC250 is a 6sped and I bumped it up to a 14t FS ...really exposed how low the top-end is on the TCs BUT, the TCs is geared correct. It is a MX racer.

"Domino Universal Single Cable Throttle Control with Grips"

I have been installing this throttle on all my bikes. Pull only. It reduces the turn by a significant amount. More than a quick turn throttle. Also swapping to pull only has given me a much more responsive throttle on my bikes as it snaps shut and is a much much better feel.

Expensive but worth it if you have trouble turning the throttle to 100%. I would say its about a 1/6 or 1/8 turn. Which seems drastic but makes an amazing difference on the road and dirt. So much easier to control. I get 0 arm pump on any bikes with this throttle installed.

Thanks and I'm moving towards spending some money in the next few months and this throttle device sounds like it has promise... Glucosamine has helped greatly with the pain but not the movement.

Had a 2010 TC 250 and loved it ! BUT, traded it in for a 2013 TC 250. Love that one as well. However, the advantage I miss of the 2010 is that I it was so damn light!!! Felt like a BMX bicycle. Awesome**************************************** The 13 feels a bit heavier but am loving the fuel injection and a tad more power. My final decision is,,,,,, I like them both equally for what they are. Glad you got the conversion to TE with lights figured out.

Good tip. Riding my 13 TC 250 R at the track I find myself going into an epileptic seizure in order to reach full throttle. The degree of rotation to reach full throttle is ridiculously large.
