  • Hi everyone,

    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

2011 TE 310 Ride Reports?

I'm seriously considering a 2011 TE 310 and would love to hear some opinions from anyone who has ridden one. I've searched but haven't been able to find much info.

My current bike is a KTM 250 XCF-W with the SXS 280 kit. I've owned a lot of bikes over the years and so far this has been my favorite but the new huskys look good...

Can anyone tell me how the new 310 is or how it would compare to my KTM?

What I got from that is the bike is awesome, spectacular, f***king epic, with great power for enduros.... oh yeah and perfect trail riding machine.

Sounds good to me! Can anyone with some hours on one tell me how the reliability is?

Two more rides (weekends) and my KTM is gonna be for sale...
 
I rode one a few weeks back for a few hours and it is absolutely fantastic. I have owned 4 different 250f's, and the 310 reminds me of my favorite two. It has fun, rippable power like my old KX250f that had a 290 kit that I loved and the great Husky handling/lightweight of my 2010 TC250. The bike had the power to handle HUGE deep sand hills from near dead stop 2nd and 3rd gear roll ons and was real confidence inspiring in the rocky technical sections. Add in the fact that you get a stock larger tank and a license plate and its a winner.
 
I've had mine for 3 months and have 20hrs/1000 km on it and so far it has been bullet proof. Regular oil and oil filter changes along with fresh air filter every ride is all i need to do for trouble free riding!!.. By the way this is the best bike i have ever had the pleasure of owning and riding
 
I rode Manic's for a mile or two. It felt incredibly small and light (I'm 5'1") and was a rocket! I got off it thinking about what bikes I could sell in order to get one. I think my CR125 and my KTM 450 might have to go when the time comes.
 
Anyone race one in a HS or cross country. Tight stuff, steep ups and downs, mud, rocks, MX track... type course?

I came from a KTM 250 F to a 2009 TE 310 and now I'm picking up a new TE 310 with the full Ti system (for even more botton end). The KTM slogan of 'Ready to Race' is one of the most over hyped pieces of marketing junk ever used. The bike was in no way ready to race or ride. The restrictions that had to be removed were many and varied. Once that was done it turned it into a wooden suspended, wheezy and underpowered lump. Long story short - the suspension was done (still never got it to work despite $4k of work and parts), the carburation (jets, leak jets, accelorator pump etc and so on), air box and end can. What I was left with was an expensive, not very exciting (dull!) bike. To be fair I am on the larger, more amply proportioned side so it may have been asking a lot for the bike. The thing is that a buddy of mine is 50lbs lighter and he coulnt get his to work either.
The TE310 that I got did have its own problems for a start but we got these sorted out and I'm changing it for a new one next week (I only keep my bikes for 2 years). If you decide on the 310 then you will find that the stock suspension will be great (make sure that you set the shock properly - then and only then work on the front). Also ensure that the power up kit is installed and set the ECU properly.
The other thing is make sure that the connections between the engine, throtle body and air box are properly sealed and do not leak. Put good tyres on it (for the surface that you intend to run) and enjoy. As far as an enduro bike is concerned its one of the best around.
Husqvarna have not yet developed the marketing / dealer network that KTM have (masterstroke of a business model) but they are working on it.
Finally buy OEM filters and the correct engine oil and change these regularly and dilligently and the bike will reward you with trouble free enjoyment for years. keep your feet up!!

The 2011 and 09 are totally different bikes you know. My assessment based on 08 TXC250/310 and a 2010 EFI TXC 250 is the 2011 feels lighter and faster and a race bike where the 08 feels like a sweet trail bike. It's hard to pick, both excellent bikes. The new one takes more clutch and shifting... active riding than the 08 which is EZ to ride. The 08-09 TXC250 IMHO are fantastic bikes.
 
Ive ridden the 08 back to back with the 2010 and the newer bikes have a much better motor - motor feels 5 hp up
and handling is so much better on the new lighter bike . 2011 310 set up well would be awesome
 
When are these 2011 310's going to hit the states? Seems the rest of the world had them for months... They put something extra into ours.. lol
 
Ive had mine since oct last year went from racing a 510 to the 310, its in a class of its own motor pull like a train, nice and light in the woods beats those orange buckets hands down!!!

Completely different bike for 2011. But I bet it still fits your description!

I sniffed out the 2011 310 at Tasky's a couple weeks ago. Boy, it's tempting but I've got my 250 dialed in so well now............
