  • Hi everyone,

    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Hi guys. Totally new to this site and all, but have bought a Husky TE449 -11 and google got me here. =)
I live in Sweden and my bike says Race Map II in display.
Is it possible for me to ship the ECU to you Tinken for a Race Map III upgrade and return?
Around here nobody seems to understand that you can install the Race Map III into the ECU and get a big improvement.
I run the stock Akra without SA, but want the maximum out of it off course. =)

My bike is 2011, and local Finnish dealer was able to flash map3 for me. It's not absolute, that -11 can't be flashed. Worth trying imho.

Rob I'm in Australia and a few of our dealers have different names for this upgrade . Race Map 3 , Akropovic Setting , Meo setting , also BMW race map 3 setting and I have heard of another name for it aswell . If I think of it I will put it down . Good luck.
 
Hi Tinken, I'm very interested in getting the airbox mod you described: A super easy air box mod is to order a MY12 TC449 air box cover for $23.99.

Please would you post the part number for that air box cover?

Does that TC airbox cover only have the air intake as seen in the picture or does it also have the additional air intake as per the TE?
 
Bloody hell - you're probably right (KTM: Kost Too Much).

I suppose that I could cut a hole in the left front of my TEs air box and glue some sort of gauze in place?

But the picture Tinken posted does seem to indicate that the left front of the TC airbox has been moulded a little differently.

I'm hoping that if I can get a part number for it I may be able to pick one up locally at an "old price".
 
Would that part number for the TC airbox be 8000 H7800?

I ask it because although it is a different part number to the TE 449s cover, the TC part diagram does not seem to show the forward air intake as seen in the photo?

contact your Dealer and he will help you as in most cases.
It takes only 2 min to upload the Software on the Husky Computer. MAP 3 was the old BMW name for it. Now it is the Akropovic Setting.

Dealers usually do it without charging for it , or did it already before delivery to customer
