• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2014 Husky 501 test

I also ride a 2013 zx10r, paid $12,500 otd for a 200 mph bike. I looked at the BMW litre bike but it was about $20,000. Awesome bike but just too expensive. Both my 13 te 449 and te 511 were bought on closeout prices $5600 for 449 and $5900 for 511. I looked at the KTM's but otd it was gonna be $11,400....Over $10,000 for a dirt bike is just insane.

Radar I will keep what I have for a long time, service the heck out of them and enjoy every ride.

$10,000 for a bike is insane. In California add sales tax and your up to $11,700ish....just crazy IMHO
It might be insane, but look at the Japanese bikes, and everything you would have to purchase to make it a decent bike. Exhaust, brakes, controls, etc. Your looking at the same price and it's still not on the same level.

Very true. Maybe cause I'm older now (46) I appreciate the build quality and having something different. I've owned every Japanese bike mx to atv etc and these huskys I now own are by far better quality. Price was a consideration also and with my dealer blowing them out they were cheaper and street legal. I guess price can be what you consider fun and at almost $12,000 for a KTM dirt bike it better be enlightening.

I forgot about the license plate too. Try getting a real dirt bike with a plate from japan!

Yup that was another reason the husky was a screaming deal. In california the dmv is pulling plates on Japanese bikes or can't register them at all. It just seems like the prices are out of control or inflation is causing the outrageous prices. Anyway go husky, I will definitely go sit on and check out the new bikes when my dealer gets them in.
