• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

83 CR500, here begineth the lesson

Most of my machine shop time is going in to my KTM project so I just bit the bullet and bought one from HVA factroy UK. Not sure what it cost, I ask for an invoice once a month and pay the lot, if I ever looked at invoices my bikes probably would'nt get built !

Dont look at the invoices.... never look at them. i did once and it took weeks to recover.. its bad idea

I got a rear brake too. Needs some adustment on the torque arm length.

But worse than that, the wife has just invented a 'Green shark bite' with a Calgary MX track back drop. Thank you and good night...****************************************!

The original kicker was well worn, heavy and looked awkward so I ebayed a KTM LC4 left kickstart and got the hacksaw out..

Waiting for a new nut. It's actually going in to the workshop for the exhaust mods tomorrow !! So will be testing first kick strategy soon.

Fine art exhibit, dont ever ride it,get a supermodel to pose naked over it and sell the prints to the michelin boys...

I'm goin to hammer it. The KTM blew up outside Liz Hurleys place just down the road, hopin the Husky lets go around about the same place. Maybe she'll answer the door this time ?????

Thanks for the tip, a good chance to rifle the undie drawer, only problem is by the look of him these days they probably share the same lingerie so maybe not !!!

I made a monster, the extra 15mm on this brake lever could be the difference between hit and miss on a bambi of the sort I'm just about to curry ****************************************

Very frustrated, the bike is off to get the exhaust fitted. I've seen it today, its been cut and should be welded over the weekend and tweeked next week. If not I'm gonna bust it out of there and do it myself. I got the KTM525 engine I'm building and shoe horning a KTM690 in to a gsxr400 to keep me busy but I'm getting Husky sick. Thats the one I really want to get going.
And you can only imagine what the GSXR400 forum is like !! Maybe I'm spoilt by the info, expertise and enthusiasm on this site?

took the monster out for spin and gave it a descent serve of right fist.. phuq me it goes, its like 125 with 60 hp!! ol mates port tool spread some hp about. i need to check the timing a little more accurately then i will lean the needle of one more clip and see if i can tame the transition. its great in the tight stuff but getting on to 3rd gear more open stuff is a wild ride. hope you get the pipe sorted soon as the fun is just begining...
