• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

83 CR500, here begineth the lesson

FYI when you break the corner off that little kickstart finger you just flip it over and use the other side & keep a spare in you toolbox they like to break

Any news on the FZR400 with the 690 in it.. I have a nice rolling FZR400 chassis and was wondering what to power it with?

Very cool.. have joined supermoto junkie just to follow your build.
Don't want to Hijack this thread with off topic... but my original "dream" was a Ducati Supermono... so what I really wanted was a 500 or 600cc thumper!
Sounds good but I think you might struggle to tether the motor in there well enough to stop it escaping. Could be a lot of work but would probably worth it? Limited in choice a bit by all but the 690 KTM motors being right hand drive and the 690's being rare and fetching big money when they do come up. I'll have a look later but I remember choice being a bit limited.

I remember reading about a Duc supermono (can't remember which mag) a few years back, he had removed the rear cyl head of a 916 lump and used it as a compressor to supercharge the other cylinder apperently it put out about the same HP as a standard 916!!!

Exhaust Pipe... I reckon a down pipe a la TM 400 would look awesome on the big Husky. you could get a lovely crackle out of it! Just have to make sure there is clearance at full bottomed suspension. Jumping a hedgerow will do that!

The last of a batch of 12 by the late great Pat French for sportster engine, I used a Buell though. Very interested in making a Mk.3 Metisse Husky or possibly Maico next. If it's a full scrambler will be needing a test rider, Grouty???

I'll ride anything ...... You would have to give it just one go though Joe ! Easter Sunday at Devon Classic ??
