• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

88 cagiva wmx resto

My radiator shrouds were is decent shape so I reused them since this plastic is so difficult to find. I wet sanded them to remove the big scratches...then I used Krylon fusion plastic paint. A few coats of that gave them a nice new look. Then I made templates and cut pieces of black background material to cover the majority of the shroud. Then installed the Cagiva decals..and finally covered them with clear.

Cheko,

Seat cover came from Ceet racing in the US. They have them in stock in their online store. The used right sidepanel I got from the UK hasn't arrived yet. It might be at the Post Office today. It's a little beat up but it's better than not having one! I would still like to find a new one to match the NOS left one I got from Australia.

If you can find one...I need the plastic swing arm slider for the chain...or I'm going to have to make one. I stripped my hubs and radiators bare and left them...I thought it looked better than paint. I replaced all the rear spokes and nipples.

oh and i have a nos tank too....and that 88 WMX 250 is looking awesome, my friend just found his 88 from highschool, the guy he sold it to still had it sitting in his barn.... thus WMX fever !

My 88 is almost finished! It's all done except the engine. I was able to get a Wossner piston for it through Halls and find all my gaskets and seals on ebay. Unfortunately I need a crank and they are unavailable from Husky.

Does anyone have a good used crank or know where I may find one....or if it cross refrences to something else?

The part number for '88 is 50624. I'm not sure about the '89 but for '90 they changed to part number 60182. Then 67617 in '91. Changed again in '92 and then '93-98 was the same. They didn't change much on these engines so I'm not sure why there are all the different part numbers.
