  • Hi everyone,

    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Congrats on the 500cr! Nice bike extremely clean for its age. It was advertised ebay and craigslist for several weeks. How much did you give for it?

i give him what he wanted hes going to hold it for a coupla week i have to get it to caly it is super clean we dont get bikes that clean in australia all was good wether bikes that old a worn out and thay want the same cash i should see it in about 2mths just fix what needs fixen and that will do it my mate has a maico 490 82 just need a bike to mach it lol cheers mitch
 
Cool, Ya I thought the price was real fair for what you got. I just bought another 86 430ae from the original owner and wish I would of waited a few weeks for the 500 to have come up for sale. Your new bike is about three hours from me. My new bike is 3 days drive away. If I remember correctly one of his adds said, "must sell do to injury". I'm sure that bike is a BEAST. What is the shipping charges on something like that?
 
got a get on to uship.com thay will take it from crystal lake to caly old mate said around 100/200 bucks 800 from caly to queensland east coast australia its going to be a long 2 mths. we got a shipin contaner full of them 430s coupla yrs back got lost in shiping for about 10 yrs have u posted any pic yet

Ya, I posted 2 pics in my 1986 430 Auto resto thread, middle of page 1.
I plan on going back totally stock, should make a nice summer project
 
Hey Cagiva,
I bought a WP shock from E-bay that is a 1988 cagiva. I wanted to use the lower mounting eye on another WP shock, but changed my mind.

The shock is for sale. Still has a nitrogen charge and the shaft looks good and smooth. The spring was no good.
Shock, adjuster nuts and spring saddle.

thanks motorhead ive put a lot of time in to it since november last year funny you should say that it looks a lot like your wr it parks beside my 2010 wr 300 in the shed and i think the same over hear in aus it came out as the husqvarna 250 in 1990 over there in the us you got them in 1988 as a husqvarna .
(i pick up a 1989 cagiva wmx125 of a mate its all just started again)
